Kundapur : Protesting against union government's flawed
financial policies, and hike in the prices of essential commodities and petrol
price and many such other issues, BJP unit from here organized a 'Jail Bharo'
campaign at Shastri circle here by blocking the NH 66 on June 22.
Addressing the protesters, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary said, "Congress came to
power by capturing the votes of the poor but it is hurting the feelings of the
same common man by hiking the price of essential commodities. Congress is
rewarding the voters this way. Protesting against this we have come with
Jail Bharo programme. We need the support of the common man. Then only can
we throw away the UPA government".














The police arrested the agitators, took them to the police station and
released them later. BJP Kundapur constituency president B Kishore
Kumar, general secretary Sharashcandra Hegde, Rajesh Kaveri, municipal president
Mohandas Shenoy, ZP member Ganapathi T Shriyan, Prakash Mendon, Yuva Morcha
president Jayaprakash Shetty, women's Morcha president Janaki Billava, TP
members, municipal members, gram panchayat members, senior BJP leaders, Bajrang
Dal district convener Girish Kundapur and BMS president T Sathish were present
on the occasion.

Byndoor : BJP protesting against the Congress-led UPA government held
Jail Bharo agitation quite successfully in Hemmadi in Byndoor constituency.
Hundreds of party workers coming in procession from Yuvaka Mandal blocked
the road at the bus station on NH 66 and shouted slogans against the UPA
government.
Byndoor MLA K Laxminarayana addressed the protesters and said, "It is
through the wrong economic policies of the UPA government that the petrol price
hike has been a big blow to the normal life of the middle class people and this
has become indirectly responsible for the price rise. The union government has
not handled the price rise issue".
Byndoor constituency BJP president Pranaya Kumar Shetty, ZP education and
health standing committe president Babu Hegde, ZP member Gowri Devadiga, Indira
Shedthi, TP president Shanker Shetty, Srimati Mogaveera, Radha
Poojarthy, Mahila Morcha president Hemavathi Poojary, Yuva Morcha
president Veerabhadra Shetty, BJP general secretary Sadashiva D Padivary,
Surendra Kharvi, leaders Atul Kumar Shetty, Taranath Shetty, B Sadananda Shenoy,
Chittaranjan Hegde, K B Shetty, Sumathi Mogaveera, Pushparaj Shetty, gram
panchayat presidents, members, and Morcha office-bearers were present on the
occasion.
Later the police arrested the protesters, took them to the auditorium of
Yuvaka Mandala and released them. |
