Aboobaker suggested to Jerardin D'souza, that a Housing loan scheme for the poorest families of Rs One lakh should be started. They both agreed to propose it to the Chief Minister.
Jerardin D'Souza expressed deep regret, when informed by Mr.Somappa that the Christian applicants for the various schemes were negligible. D'Souza promised to urge the Community to take maximum benefit from these Humanitarian schemes of the Government.
He appealed to the Bishop, Priests, & various organisations like Catholic Sabha, International Federation for Karnataka Christian Association ( IFKCA) to reach out to the people. Jerardin said that it is the duty of every community member to reach out to each other & spread the news of these schemes. Since this Council is new, he appealed to every individual to help their needy folks. It would be really sad if the Christian Community failed to take part in these schemes by not applying, even though we all know about the increase of poverty that is prevalent in the community. Jerardin D'Souza offered his mobile number for any help/queries --9844074759. You can also contact the Manager of KMDC at 9480347316 (mobile) Or 0824- 2450044 (office)
The KMDC interactive meeting with the applicants ended on a very positive note. Aboobaker received many applications & asked the officials to respond speedily. Jerardin felt it was very productive to hold meetings like these ,where we get a chance to record about all the progress made, & take remedial action, rather than keeping it at the end of the financial year. |
