Team Mangalorean - Mumbai with inputs from Dubai
Mumbai: Missing Bollywod starlet Laila Khan of Pakistan
origin, who mysteriously disappeared with her family members over a year ago, is
reportedly in Dubai.
This has been revealed by an associate of hers, Parvez Ahmed Tak, who is now
under custody and is being interrogated by the Mumbai police.
She is reportedly linked with a Dubai-based underworld don, whose underling
Sonu has married Laila now.

Laila had acted in a Kannada movie called 'Make-up' with Jaggesh
and was also featured in a few Bollywood movies. She acted with Rajesh
Khanna in 'Wafaa'.
About one and a half year ago, she had disappeared with other members of her
family from her Oshiwara residence in Mumbai. It was feared that she had been
killed with her family members.
Tak has indicated that she and her family members might have used fake
passports to escape to Dubai. This has put an end to the theory that they had
been murdered. Tak is said to have driven the item girl's car to Kishtwar in
Jammu and Kashmir. Thereafter, two cars belonging to Khan’s mother Saleena have
been found abandoned in Jammu and Kashmir. Laila is reportedly on the run with
her mother Saleena, two sisters, two cousins, and her stepfather Ateeq.
A complaint was lodged with the Mumbai police by Laila Khan's father, Nadir
Shah Patel, who alleged that his daughter Laila Khan along with her mother
Saleena Patel, her sister Azmina Patel, her stepfather Asif Sheikh and their
family friend Pervez Iqbal Tak went missing after they left for Kashmir to
attend a wedding.
Laila Khan has not been seen since February 2011. The Bollywood actress, born
in Pakistan, was working on a new movie when she went missing, together with her
mother, sister, a family friend and a domestic servant.
The disappearance puzzled investigators, who observed the contrast between
her small-time roles and lavish lifestyle. Her Mitsubishi Outlander was found
abandoned in a remote village in Kishtwar a year ago.
Vital documents found in the car indicated her links with Lashkar-e-Taiba
(LeT) terrorists involved in the September 2011 Delhi High Court blast that
killed 11 people.
Call records show that two suspected LeT associates, Pervez Tak and Asif
Sheikh, had frequent telephonic conversations with Laila.
Enquiries have revealed that Laila was previously married to Bangladeshi
terrorist Munir Khan, who was linked to the banned group Harkat-ul-Jihad
al-Islami (Huji). Through Munir she is believed to have come into contact with
LeT. |
