Mangalore : This is a unique story as to what happened to a girl when she followed up on a incoming missed call on her mobile phone from a guy stranger, which led herself and her male friend into deep trouble. The incident occurred near Morgansgate, where a muslim youth got beaten up by a Hindu organisation for having an affair with a Hindu girl.
The young man was identified as Tasleem residing in Bantwal. The girl, a resident of Shaktinagar was employed with a call center in Mangalore. A call that was missed on the girl's number one fine day, led to start a relationship between the couple. Their acquaintance had turned into intimacy, and continued from then on. The boy would wait near Morgansgate everyday to meet the girl at the end of her work hours.
The couple would meet at an isolated place close by, and then leave to their homes. This affair between the couple led to curiosity of a Hindu organisation to check their background, they found that the boy belonged to the muslim community and girl from a Hindu family.
Recently, the activists who wanted to stop the relationship between the boy and girl decided to follow the couple from a distance. They found Tasleem's bike behind a bush but not the couple. The activists waited near the bike for the couple to return. So when the couple returned to their vehicle they got beaten up by the activists, where also the Muslim youth is said to have introduced himself to the activists as Rahul, and also appeared to look like a Hindu wearing a religious hindu string around his neck and a thread around his wrist.
The activists then handed the couple over to the Pandeshwar Police after the incident. The police are said to have called both their parents and advised them to control their children. |

I am glad to see a 'change of heart' by our 'American' Puttur Dinesh in acknowledging a 'social issue'. The 'community' he is referring to has very strict rules for its women. However, they preach to others on tolerance and openness. For proof, we all can see how those values are practiced from Morocco to Kashmir!!
Still....I strongly oppose any physical violence by anyone. No group has the right to physically assault two adults who are engaged in consensual acts.

| It is time that people should protect themselves when police become useless. If I anticipate any problems going out with Hindu girls, I would carry a legal weapon and use it as self-defence or "Stand-your-ground" law. This is the only medicine for such disease. |

good move..
we have example of last month news of relegius man raping 15 year old dalit girl for months ...
the girl was traped in the name of mariage..
so to avoid similar incidents from these relegius fundametalists ..there must be some protectoin to girls.
this pfi ,jamaat e islam etc etc have made it a habit to exploit innconet girls from other religun and use them for bad activities..

| Puttur Dinesh, I guess you have inspired from movie “Taken ". Anyhow no need to go Netherlands or any western countries. Just visit Mumbai grant road and Pune. Find their root cause. Even you can find in YouTub. |

"So when the couple returned to their vehicle they got beaten up by the activists" - Report.
This is wrong. Who gave this organization the right to assault another individual ? Two adults can do whatever they want to do in their privacy. Our police should file a case against these 'activists' for teaching them a lesson.

Even though I have not supported the BD's in this matter, I feel that there is an underlying social issue here.
The so called love Jihad(not sure if influenced by religion) also exists in other countries. I recently heard on radio that in Netherlands, underage girls from the countryside who seek attention are lured by young Morrocan/Turkish immigrants and once they fall in love, they act as their pimp and lead the girls into prostitution. The Dutch governement has started public service announcements to aducate girls on lover boys.
The phenomenon is not new to mangalore, years ago, some mangalorean boys would trap local girls and lead them to prostitution in areas such as Mumbai. The only difference now, is the religion of the people involed in such activities is different.

| Very very shameful indeed Mr Police Chief of Mangalore.A piece of advice, try to get some inspiration from Mumbai ACP Vasant Doble and punish the attackers and show you are a real up-holder of justice.Just leave the grown up couple to themselves as long as they have not broken any law.Don't forget that even in police dept.there are male and female staff working together and not all can be termed as clean or saintly. |

It is shameful on the part of Police Commissioner and his team to support Moral Policing.
It's time to put an end to this nonsense. Why can't educated Manglorean's join together and put an end to this problem once for all.......... |

| Seems like Mangalore needs to open a department called 'Inter-caste Love Affair Registrate' run by hard-core activists to register all those who want to fall in love irrespective of caste and creed. How about the film stars who are in love affair and don't care about their castes--are these activists blind or what? Seems like Rich and wealthy can't be tackled by these goondas!! I am lucky to survive our love affair those days--feels great to marry??? |

Question 1 : Is it against the law or the constitution for people of different religions to fall in love in India?
Question 2 : Who are these gang of goons to beat up a person on the streets? Are they law enforcers or empowered by the law to take matters in their own hands?
The first duty of the police was to book this gang of rowdies for assault and even attempt to murder.
The next was to find out if this couple were minors or adults. If they were adults then the police has no business to interfere in their private affair unless the couple themselves requested the Police to help them in getting married.
Only if the couple were found to be minors then the police could or should have called the parents to let them know of what was happening.
This is once again a case of moral policing where the goons walk free and the police dancing to the tunes of the fundamentalists. |
