Kasaragod: Kriti Shetty (26), daughter of Seetaram and Nagaveni of Agari Salettur in Bantwal taluk of DK district of Karnataka and wife of UAE-based Raviraj Shetty, was found dead in a well next to her husband's house in Kelugudde Chatla near Adkattabail here in the city on Thursday, June 28 night.

She was given in marriage to Raviraj about a year ago and he had recently come down to hometown on holidays. She was pursuing Chartered Accountancy studies and was awaiting the final results.

On Thursday, as she was watching the TV with other members of the family, she had suddenly walked out and did not return for a long time. The worried family members came out and began searching for her. Her sandals were found near the well. The police and fire service were called in. The firemen brought her out of the well, but by then she had reportedly died.

What drove her to the desperate act all of a sudden is not known.
