Mangalore: The Sanathana Yakshalaya ® and Yaksharadhana
Kalakendra ® Urva Mangalore in association with DK Kannada & Culture
department celebrated their third anniversary here in the Town Hall on Sunday
July 1.
Sumangala Ratnakar Rao welcomed the gathering. Sanathana Yakshalaya director
Rakesh Rai Adka read out the yearly reports of both the organisations.
Tenkuthittu Yakshagana artist Madhooru Radhakrishna Navada was felicitated on
the occasion. Speaking in reply to the felicitation he said that there are so
many disabled artists who deserve to be felicitated, more than him. When they
are identified and honoured its boosts their mental strength.















Karnataka Bank DGM Planning & Development K G Ramesh Rao said that
Yakshagana has to be taken to further generations in its purest form.
Kadri Navaneeth Shetty speaking on the occasion invited parents to send their
children to learn the art of Yakshagana without any inhibitions. He also
commented on the five oddologas performed by youngsters before the stage
programme and appreciated them.
Deputy Mayor Amitha Kala in her presidential addresses called on
everybody to encourage the art of Yakshagana and also expressed her interest to
learn the art soon after her term completes.
B Ratnakar Rao delivered the vote of thanks.
Inspite of the rains, many Yakshagana lovers in and around the city thronged
to the Town Hall to witness the Yakshagana programme that went on till late
night. |
