Karkal:  A father and his son, both residents of Marodi Venur in Belthangadi  were assualted by a group in the background of a property dispute.

The assaulted persons Wilfred Rodrigues and his father Victor Rodrigues who were  injured have been admitted to a hospital in Karkal.

A neighbour, Vijayakumar was involved in the attack. Vijayakumar , along with Chakrabaddi Raja and Raja's men illegally entered into the Rodrigues  property. The group is said to have first argued with the father and son before carrying out the lethal attack.

The injured were given first aid at a hospital in Naravi, and then they were sent to Belthangadi Goverment Hospital for further treatment. As per the advise  of doctors there, they were taken to Wenlock government hospital, Mangalore. Since they were denied to be taken in as in-patients by the doctors, the injured were finally admitted in muti-speciality hospital in Karkal. It is also learnt that Wilfred is speech impaired.
