Udupi: Pandit Deen Dayal Trust organized a ceremony to felicitate top scorers in the SSLC Examinations held during the year 2012, at Deen Dayal Auditorium, here on July 6.

The Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhaya Memorial Scholarship, along with Dr. VS Acharya Memorial scholarship were presented to the top scorers from Udupi Town Municipality . Also the top scorers in SSLC Exam 2012 from the same town were also presented with the Kum Gayathri Scholarship Memorial Award, during this occasion.

Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp,and offered floral tributes to the portrait of Dr. V S Acharya. Later he presented scholarship awards to the students. In his message Raghupathi Bhat said that: "Dr V S Acharya throughout his life was thoughtful of education just as he gave first priority for education, and later he thought of creating necessary infrastructure. His last programme was also related to education. We are really lucky that we had such a personality among us".

Gujjadi Prabhakar Nayak expressed his views and opinions about Deen Dayal, and Dr. VS. Acharya on the occasion. Kiran Kumar, President Udupi Town Municipality ; Udaya Kumar Shetty, Udupi Dist. BJP ; Mohan Upadhya, President for Deen Dayal Trust were present on the occasion.

Mohan Upadhya welcomed the guests, Secretary Dinakar Shetty proposed a Vote of thanks and Shyamala Kunder compered the programme.
