Mangalore:
"Oh No! There is a war going on at Karnataka PolyTechnic Grounds" said someone. But it wasn't true--instead it was just a ' mock war ' enacted by National Cadet Corps belonging to various Schools and Colleges in Dakshina Kannada, as part of the 10-day ' Combined Training Camp ' conducted by 18 Karnataka Battalion,NCC, Mangalore at Karnataka PolyTechnic grounds on July 7. The camp has already started on July 2, 2012. The venue looked like a mock battle field where the cadets were demonstrating their acts with weapons, guns, smoke shells and what not. The camp is directed under the leadership of Alok Parmar, Commanding Officer of 18 Karnataka BN-NCC, Mangalore.

Ist Officers belonging to 18 Karnataka Battalion namely G R Bhat, Gajanana Maratha, Ramesh Mayya; and 2nd Officer Ravindra Shetty, NCC Officer at Canara High School, Urwa, Mangalore gave elaborate details about the Camp to the mangalorean.com reporter :-
