Written Appeal From Sri D.V. Sadananda Gowda: Protest Meet Cancelled
Jaago Mangalore Association regrets to announce that their proposed Public Meeting called on Saturday, 14th July 2012 at 12:00 noon at Town Hall, Mangalore to protest against the unjust overthrow of the D. V. Sadananda Gowda led state government has been cancelled.
This follows a personal appeal by Chief Minister Sri D. V. Sadananda Gowda requesting that the agitation be called off. “In his letter, the chief minister acknowledged our love and respect for him and requested us to cancel the public meeting saying it would give him the maximum happiness in this hour,” said Vijaynath Shetty, the Chief Coordinator of Jaago Mangalore Association. “Our objective for organizing the protest was to condemn the unfair tactics being heaped on an honest and decent leader by forces of corruption. We are very touched by Sri D. V. Sadananda Gowda’s humble appeal and we salute the great restraint and dignity he has displayed at this juncture. As we respect his decision in this regard, we have no choice but to heed his advice and call off the stir,” he added.
Jaago Mangalore Association’s call for protest meet in support of Sri D. V. Sadananda Gowda, had evoked widespread response and the organization was inundated with hundreds of SMSs and phone calls from members of the public expressing their support against the political outrage. Many organizations, sanghas, youth and voluntary bodies from different places had also called us to express their interest to participate in the protest meeting. Hence we regret that we have to call off the proposed agitation for reasons mentioned above.
Jaago Mangalore Association is thankful to the public for identifying with the cause and coming out in support. The association further assures its total commitment to uphold democratic values and to safeguard the best interests of the public at all times.

| There is no point telling that BJP got strong hold in coastal Karnataka if our leaders are not giving right position to our sincere MLA's like Haladi. Therefore DVS can not become leader for the coastal Karnataka. DVS will never raise his voice for us, because he wanted to maintain his clean image. Therefore we should find out hard working and honest leader, but aggressive like BSY to get proper seats in Karnataka Govt, else demand for the separate coastal state. We don't want Gandhi kind of leaders. Coastal Karnataka should select leaders like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel or Chandrashekhar Azad. In the next election, BJP will loose all the seats in undivided Dakshina Kannada, which will be a lesson for BJP for not giving any priority to the stronghold of BJP. |
