Udupi: The Installation of new Office bearers of Udupi District Women Congress Wing and felicitating talented students were held simultaneously on Saturday July 14 at Congress Bhavanin Brahmagiri.

KPCC secretary Shyamal Bhandary inaugurated the programe by lighting the lamp. In her inaugural message she said that " the state political system is totally defunct, women need to get into politics now and become active. Women are not hungry for power, they don't make lobbies. It is necessary that now our women hold the democratic values. BJP Govt. has flouted all political values. The coastal region has to revive its old grandeur. Let us work together,let us strengthen our party", she said.

The chief guest, Chickamagalur-Udupi MP K Jayapraksha Hegde speaking on the occasion said "We are very close to Vidhana Sabha elections now. Success in the Lok Sabha election that we had recently is just the beginning. It is saddening taking stock of the political situation in the state. The leaders of the party rebelling against the Prime Minister himself is a bad sign. People want a change. Today when the values are falling, women can create new awareness, you need to make use this opportunity ", he said.
