Mangalore: St Aloysius held a felicitation ceremony to the top scorers as well as the Annual Parent Teachers Association Meet, at the school auditorium here on July 14.
The programme began with an invocation by the PTA members. Member of the PTA Shalet Patrao welcomed the gathering. Secretary of the PTA Lancy D'Souza read out the annual report as well as the statement of account.






























Member of SACAA M G Mohan briefed on the dream project of the Swimming pool. Mohan further said, that in Philippines, swimming is the part of the curriculum but not here in India. Swimming is the perfect exercise to the brain and it regulates breathing. Swimming helps the child to grow healthy, it improves the confidence of the child and it will make the child intelligent. Further he stated that, in the undivided districts from 5 to 21 years of age children don't know swimming, there are lot of drowning cases in both Udupi and Mangalore district. To avoid such incidents SACAA has taken a step to build a swimming pool in St Aloysius premises. He urged the alumni/ae to contribute generously towards the project and make the dream project into reality.
The top scorers in SSLC examinations were felicitated by the Rector of St Aloysius Institution Fr Joseph Rodrigues, and Headmaster Fr Edward Rodrigues. In his presidential address Fr Edward said that whoever visits this school has experienced the serene atmosphere here, and said, "When we enter this school we feel the presence of God. The students in this school are adorable, disciplined and very co-operative because co-operation is the trade mark of the school ". He urged the parents to encourage their children and to trust them. Rector Joseph Rodrigues speaking on the occasion clarified some misunderstanding created by the media about the Institution said that some untoward incidents have happened here. One of the boy was shouting slogan's against the college in front of the main gate and we have recorded evidence about it. On the basis of the evidence the principal had given the conduct certificate unsatisfactory. Rector urged the parents not to allow their children to join any political organizations. This is their time to study and not to become activists in any political organizations. St Aloysius Institutions want to give value added education to every student, and students and parents should think about it. He said to forget any differences or misunderstandings and work hand in hand for the development of the institution.
