Uppinangady: A armed group gang of Naxals stormed the house of a farmer at Sudegundi near Shishila, Uppinangady on Friday night July 13, and fled away with 50 kg rice, sugar, tea powder and chilly. The Naxals comprising of four men and a woman had visited the framer's house and asked them to provide 50 kg rice, and other cooking materials, and promised the house owner they wouldn't harm him if he obliges, what they have asked for.The gang members speaking in Tulu, also urged the family members not to inform the police of their visit. The gang had hanged on and spent time at the farmer's house for nearly two hours.

As the news of Naxals visiting the house began to spread, ASP Anucheth visited the house and confirmed the visit of a gang. The ASP team has been lately carrying out combing operation in forest at Miyar. It is also learned that a gang of Naxals have also striked Ammudange Mucchiradka Colony last month.
