Kuwait: Athletes Faye and Mariam to Take Part in London Olympics

Kuwait: Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society,  have sent a congratulatory  letter to H.E. Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al-Sabah, President of  Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) for representing Kuwait at the London Olympics, with flags and Kuwaiti national anthems.  In a press release IKFS  expressed joyfulness and was delighted to hear that the 2012 London Olympic stadium will witness hoisting of  Kuwaiti national flag and playing of national anthem of Kuwait.

IKFS wishes H.H. Amir of Kuwait Shaikh Sabah Ahmad Al-Sabah and Kuwait's National Olympic Committee (KNOC) for arranging the participation of world famed 24 year old shooter Mariam Erzouqi and 17 year old swimmer Faye Sultan in the Olympics to commence on July 27th in London.  IKFS  members pray for the success of the two Kuwaiti women athletes. The first  Kuwaiti woman to compete at the Olympics was Danah al-Nasrallah who took part in the 100m in 2004.

Kuwait is also the home of the Olympic Council of Asia’s head quarters which focuses on equality, fair competition and peace through sport throughout Asia.

Dr  Ghalib Al-Mashoor, President of IKFS said that IKFS committee has sent congratulatory message earlier to H.E. Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah, Head of the Olympic Council of Asia, when H.E. Sheikh Ahmad was voted in as president of the Association of National Olympic Committees at the opening of its General Assembly held in Moscow during the month of April this year. May God protect Kuwait, Amir of Kuwait and People of Kuwait.
