Shirva: A Traditional Village Game By The Village People For The Village People

Shirva: Monsoon brings new spirit to villagers, agricultural activities commence, and village sports begin with amid spirit.' Dirt Race ' is the traditional form of game and enjoyment to the villagers before the modern technology started to flow in the villages.

While people still live back in their village life,  Voladoor Welfare Association, organised the  traditional ' Dirt Race ' and Vanamahotsava programme, on July 15, here in Voladoor.

The members of the association planted saplings in the surroundings of the village. The programme was inaugurated by the elders of the village and the office bearers of the association.

The' Dirt Race ' aka ' Keasrugadde Otta ' accompanied  by Kabbadi, Tug-of-war and many more village sports which give glance of the traditional setup of the village took place during the event. Youths of this village have newly formed this association to create a platform for villagers to exhibit their talents and ideas.

However where village life is not recognized and ignored by many, these joyful youth have taken a good step in bringing the villagers together through this project.
