Mangalore: Canara High School Association inaugurated "Post Graduate Centre" of Canara First Grade College, at the T V Ramana Pai Convention Centre, Kodialbail here on July 16.
Professor of Commerce and Registrar (Evaluation), Mangalore University Prof P S Yadapadithaya inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries.









In his inaugural speech Prof Yadapadithaya said that students must inculcate the habit of reading. A post graduate student must be constructive, observational, well-taste in choosing the subject and has to be careful. The student should observe the event carefully and should be constructive on it. Active listening with a purpose will help the student, and in studies listening is very much important. Reading books and the selection of the books is one more important aspect in students life. When you refer a book you have to understand the preface, if you don't know what you are reading then it is a waste of time.
Student should inculcate the habit of writing a page every day because pen practice will improve the confidence of the students in studies. Along with these qualities student should inculcate the habit of questioning, reflecting, re-writing, analysis, interpretation, conclusion and drawing skills.
Recalling the quote of Carl T Rowan Prof Yadapadithaya said, "The library is the temple of learning, and learning has liberated more people than all the wars in history", he urged the students to inculcate the habit of reading and consider the library as a Temple of Learning.
Retired IAS officer Pangal Chandrakanth Nayak also spoke on the occasion. President of Canara High School Association S S Kamath, Vice President Canara High School Association M Annappa Pai, Hon. Secretary M Raghunath Bhat, Principal Canara First Grade College Prof M Satish Bhat and Correspondent Maroor Sudhir Pai were also present. |
