Udupi: Kota Srinivasa Poojary who was sworn in as a minister in the Jagadish Shettar cabinet last week was accorded a rousing reception as he arrived in the district on Tuesday July 17, 2012. He was received by a large number of elected representatives, citizens, well-wishers and friends.
As he arrived at the District border Near Hejamady hundreds were ready with garlands and bouquets to greet him. Driving through Kaup in an open vehicle, Srinivasa Poojary proceeded to the Katapady Vishwanatha Temple and offered special pooja.






















Later he participated in a felicitation programme organized by the district BJP at Hotel Sheshashayana Hall. Speaking to the gathering after the felicitation programme he said " I have come from the root level. It is the Party that has recognized me and bestowed me with great responsibility and to carryout the responsibilities successfully, I need the co-operation and support of all MLAs so also the co-operation of the BJP veterans".
In his congratulatory remark Mangalore MP Nalin Kumar Katil, said, " The party recognizing Kota Srinivas Poojary, an ordinary Party worker, has bestowed him with greater responsibilities. This speaks of the greatness of the Party. Media has been making news differently, but the Party is coming to normalcy. Under Jagadish Shetter, the new CM, everything will go well now".
District BJP also honoured newly elected MLC, Monappa Bhandary befittingly.
After the felicitation programme minister Kota Srinivasa Poojary visited Udupi Sri Krishna Math, and later the district BJP Office.
