Mangalore: Shooting of the Kannada film "Mahanadi"  will be completed within a month and the release  date will be somewhere around the time of Diwali or Christmas, said  film director Krishnappa Uppur in a press meet held at Hotel Moti Mahal here on July 18.

Uppur further said that the shooting of the film started on May 13, 2012, where forty eight days of shooting was done in Ankola, Udupi, Hoode Bengre, Manipal, Karkala and Kasargod.  About fifteen days of  shooting will be held in Mumbai. From the past two years I was thinking of directing Mahanadi. When I had met Jerry Dais and discussed with him about financing the movie, he immediately agreed to produce the film.  Further briefing on the story he said, "Mahanadi" is compared to a woman who is having a dream in her life. Like when various branches of the rivers join the sea, you can't identify the particular water of each river that joined  the sea. Similarly, a woman's life is compared to the river which joins the sea ".

" A woman performs her duties in every stage - being a daughter, sister, wife and a mother and experiences all sorts of roles in her life. I thought that woman oriented movies will move fast and get more popularity, and with that intention I directed Mahanadi. In Mahanadi, the girl hailing from a fisherman's family, has a dream to reach Mumbai and marry a boy there. We have to see if the girl will be able to fulfill her dream of marrying a Mumbaite? It is a interesting movie in which Dilip Raj and Sanjana will appear in the leading roles "

Addressing the media persons, Jerry Dais said ,that in order to encourage the budding stars, and support the director, we have taken the responsibility of financing this movie. This is a family movie and must be watched by all. Further he said that the guest actor Scarlet who is hailing from UK will be entertaining the crowd in 'Mahanadi '. The three days shooting of the bar dance scenes started on 17 July and will continue till 19 July. In India the media is playing a vital role in publicizing the movies. He urged the media to support the film Mahanadi and make it a grand success.

Speaking to the reporters Sanjana said, "I have done five Kannada and ten Telugu movies. Acting in Mahanadi I have not felt any difference with the facilities provided. Jerry Dais did not even thought of controlling the budget nor he restricted anyone from spending for the movie. When I first signed this movie, I was a bit nervous because of the demanding character in the movie. I am putting a lot of efforts in making this movie a successful one, I have worked with top most actors, but I am very comfortable with the Mahanadi team."

"I come from a Sindhi family and my father is a business man. I want to be a independent person. My dream was to be a pilot. One day I got an opportunity to model for an commercial advertisement with John Abhram, and this led to greater opportunities for me to act in Kannada and Tamil films. At first it was very difficult to understand Kannada, I joined Kannada learning classes to learn the language, because when you act in particular movies you should know the language well or else it is not worth acting in it", said Sanjana.

Sanjana also said, " hospitality in Mangalore is very good, people of Mangalore are very adorable and they love Kannada and Tulu Movies. In Bangalore people have different taste because it is a metro city. I love the fish curry as well as the beaches in Mangalore."

British origin Scarlet, Glen Dais, Music Director A M Neel, Photographer Sundarnath Suvarna, H Narasimha Jalahalli and Chinniprakash were also present.  Yathis Baikampady compered the programme.
