Udupi: The Vrakshakala’s  ‘The Art Gallery’ was  inaugurated in Benaka Tower Manipal here on Wednesday July 25, 2012.

Sandhya S Pai Managing Editor of ' Tharanga' Weekly Manipal inaugurated the art gallery. Entrepreneur Pramod Madhwaraj inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp.

Speaking on the occasion Sandhya Pai said that "Udupi-Manipal well known to be a hub of educational centers, has admirers of art.  There is an artist in every person.  Art give pleasure to man, I wish that more and more artists get opportunities here".

Pramod Madhwaraj, Chief Guest, speaking on the occasion said that  " There is everything in Manipal.  There was no Art Gallery, but now that need has been filled.  There being good artists in Udupi, they don't get the expected kind of support sometimes.  When people buy art pieces by paying money the effort of the artist is fulfilled" he said.

Ambalapady Sri Janardhana Mahakali Temple Administrative Trustee Dr. Ni. Ballal wished success for the new ' Art Gallery.'

P Narendra Nayak, the Proprietor of the Art Gallery; artist Ganjeefa Raghupathi Bhat; K. Laxman Bhat; Srinath Manipal; Venki Palimar; Ravi Hirebettu; Gururaj Sanil were present on the occasion.
