Udupi: Udupi District Women Congress has seriously condemned the assault over the young boys and girls who were at a birthday bash at  the ‘Morning Mist’ private resort in Mangalore. Veronica Cornelio, President of District Women Congress addressing the Press meet on Monday July 30, 2012 attributed this incident to the failure of BJP Government during the resort raid by people of religious intolerance.

The Police on spot behaved as though they were helpless.  Releasing BJP Corporator Mohan Padil just because BJP leaders protested the incident is indicative of the lawlessness in the district, she said.

Parents have responsibilities of their children; nobody has given such rights to these intolerant people. These people talking about Hindu Culture, if they had  any morality, they would have helped taking the boys and girls to their respective homes after the party.  Here they misused the occasion and behaved indecently, she complained.

As for the Rave party held in Malpe earlier, during the time where foreigners were behaving indecently doing  drugs and other vulgar postures, these so called protectors of culture, kept quiet. A detailed report filed by Jayanthi, Mysore Wing Authority was submitted to the then CM Sadanada Gowda, and this report is not yet divulged, she complained.

These people who didn't slap those Ministers watching pornography in the assembly, now behaving unruly with the young girls have exhibited their shamelessness.  To mask their chaos, corruption, nepotism in their party, over the directives of Sangha Parivar the State Govt. is trying to take people astray for which such instances are dramatised.  Such moves have made public doubt the very intentions of these people.  Since elections are round the corner now, over the directives of Sangha Parivar they are  trying to spoil communal peace & harmony, she said. If proper enquiry is not held and strict measures were not taken, the public itself will take these accused soon after they are let out from jail, she said.

This entire exercise is all formulated and enacted with dubious intentions of spoiling  the reputation of Mangalore after the resort raid over birthday celebrations now.  This is all aimed to create an impression that Mangalore is anti-women city, here women are not safe.

She exhorted that all those who love Mangalore town to get together and punish those agencies trying to tarnish our image through mass movement throughout the district and declare those illegal associations which are intolerant, and bigotry in nature.

Roshni Olivera, Jayashree Krishnaraj, Shilpa G Suvarna, Geetha Wagle were present during the press meet.
