Mangalore: President of the National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) held a press meet at the CPI(M) office, Hoige Bazar, here on July 30.
Addressing the mediapersons, the State President of NFIW , Jyothi said that BJP is supporting terrorism. In the name of Hindu culture, the BJP sponsored goons are molesting and assaulting women and many atrocities on women are going on in the city. No citizen of this country will tolerate such heinous crimes.
Further she stated that, when illegal activities were going on in Nityananda Swami's Ashram where were all these people? When the Ministers were watching porn clippings where was the' moral police' to save Hindu culture ? When there was Rave party in Udupi, where was the Hindu Culture? After seeing the footage of the recent resort incident on TV, how we can sit quiet? she questioned.
This is an inhumane act, all those who were involved in the assault must be punished severely. The people's representative of Padil ward involved in the assault was really shocking. It is also surprising that he was arrested but later released due to pressure on the police from higher authorities. If this kind of incidents take place in the peace loving city, how can women be safe ? Government should ban such anti- social organizations if not let the BJP government resign. If the government has any moral ethics then let it take a strict action and the culprits should be punished severely.
She asked, what is Hindu Culture? Beating women, raping, molesting, harassing or looting? Such organizations proclaim that they protect Hinduism. The Devadasi system still exists, why these people are not protecting Devadasi's. In the name of Hindu culture a number of women are being assaulted. Is this called the "Hindu Culture", please don't fool anyone in the name of Hinduism. Period.
She said we all women should join hands together and protest against such crimes. We the members of NFIW will follow up this case and fight for justice. Many cases have been registered but they were treated as "B" reports and dismissed. We will also survey and study all the cases and why cases are not moving forward and considered as "B"reports.
Many BJP leaders are trying to protect the culprits because they are representing the Vedike. This is all about diversionary tactics to divert the peoples mind from real issues. She said that whoever is involved in the assault and whoever is supporting or promoting such organizations should be punished severely.

| Whoever attacks, rapes, does molestation, sexual exploitation, whether he is a Hindu, Muslim or Christian or from any other religion, Indian Constitution should not allow him/her to live in the society. He should be punished life long imprisonment. Whoever spoil's peace of society, let him learn to live decent life in jail first, then come out and live in the society. We are in democratic society. We have a right to live in this society without disturbing anyone. There is no law, that you should not wear this clothes or western clothes, no Pubs, no private party's, no mingling with boys and girls. No one can come attack us nor take law in their hands and punish us. We know our Indian culture very well than these attackers since childhood. Because we are born and brought up in India. We are all Indians and there should a unity between us when uneducated, illiterate people does all these types of work. |

| First of all I condemn the way in which my brothers and sisters were treated. If there were Illegal activities going on, then either they could have gone to the police, if police did not react then they could have captured the illegal activities going on using a camera and then sent it to different channels, which would have solved the issue. The way in which the culprits acted was worse than the carnivores, to which they should be dealt as per IPC. Along with this they could be asked to give an public apology to all those victims which can be aired on all channels. This would do some damage control and reduce the popularity of Mangalore for wrong Reasons. Also this will stop all those people making this a political issue and blame BJP. I am a BJP supporter for only reason that it contains more number of good politicians in terms of percentage compared to Congress or JDS. Just because the culprits are claiming that they are from Hindu Jagarana Vedike, it does not mean that they belong to it. Let them show some proof that they belong to it (ID Card or Membership Number) as it is mandatory in most of the organizations. If proved then people are free to criticize HJS. HJV is innocent until proven guilty. Next how can one associate any organization which is doing moral policing to BJP? It is not necessary that all organizations having HINDU in them should be associated with BJP... I agree that the government is not serious in solving these matters as politicians most of them are only power hungry and not interested in social development, that does not mean one blames BJP all the time. All the opposition parties are trying to get the spotlight on them It looks like neither they are interested in putting the culprits behind the bar and see that justice it done to the victims. All said and done I feel the matter related to partying is somehow related to neighbors of Morning Mist as it looked like they were supporting the culprits (as they were fed up with the place and its activities) it has to be investigated. I am in no way supporting the culprits, they should be brought to justice; However investigation has to be done why neighbors were supporting... Note: I agree with Mr. Shyam for where are these Human Rights, Women and Children Organizations when atrocities are done against the majority hindus in the name of religion like killing cows (illegally done), love jihad, conversions, rapes etc. The persons of these organizations forget that they too have daughters and sons who might someday be the victims of these atrocities. fact is that most meidas hide the identity of rapist and congress kept mum on girls rape which was much worse than this..

Government should ban HVJ immediately. No one has gained anything from this HVJ. They have not done any good work other than creating conflict between religions. Today whatever happened to those youths should not happened to anyone in future also. All the youths whether he is a Hindu, Muslim or Christian should come together and fight for the justice and stress the Government to ban HVJ. Culprits are arrested today, but with high influence of HVJ, definitely they will come out and will start threatening the media , parents of those youths etc.
Now the question is what will the be future of those girls who are molested? Without doing any mistakes, they got molested by HVJ. How they can face this society. Police department is fully controlled by HVJ. In future, how we and our children can mingle with other cast and religion people and live peacefully in Mangalore. Who are these HVJ to stop us to go with any religion people? R we slaves of HVJ to live according to their wish.First we are Indian, then we are HIndu, Muslim and Christians. Heard those attackers were under the influence of alcohol and police were talking to them friendly, as if these people did their job smoothly.
I saw in the picture, many ladies were gathered outside the guest house after attack. Where were these ladies, when attack was going on? Why they were silent. It is our Indian culture my dear brothers and sister. Really feeling sad for those youth. Is it possible to get peaceful Mangalore back? Very Very doubtful, unless we fight for the justice with one voice. |

I am a proud Hindu and will like to remind all these fanatics that Hinduism is the oldest faith on earth. Hinduism has not required and will not require mindless organizations like Bajarang Dal, HJV or Ram Sena to defend the religion. and act like they are the protectors of faith.
Petty criminal minded organizations like this will come and go in the centuries to come but all religions on earth will continue even without their services.
After molesting, assualting, trespassing and robbery i still wonder why are the swamijis still quiet in the region? I would urge them to condemn this incident lest they will be seen as supporters of this dirty episode.

Hindu culture that prevails so strongly and vibrantly in India and abroad should be applauded with grateful thanks.
Majority rule of Hindu India has given us an identity of what "Hindusthan" is all about in a secular country where there are more than ninehundred million Hindus, majority of whom are giving so much towards their "Maathrabhoomy".
The Moslems and Christians of India are unique in their display of characteristic as compared to Moslems and Christians pf the rest of the free world, and this unique charm of united India is attributable to the examples displayed by majority of Hindus whose beliefs of peace, harmony, shanthi and non-violence is admired all over the world.
Thanks, Jyoti, for sharing your valuable sentiments on the Hindu culture. Let us all joint our hands together and make a greater difference in a land of Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Acharya Vinoba Bhave and many others who have shown us the pathway of unity and progess amidst all the trials and tribulations encountered in our every day challenges of populated India.

Happy to know that atleast now the people of Mangalore have woken up. If similar unity was shown by all during pub attack and the culprits were taught a lesson of their lives this incident would not have taken place. Just imagine, a handful of rogues holding the whole state and its machinery for ransom.
Today Yediyurappa is strongly condemning this act and wants the culprits to be punished. What was he doing when similar incidents happened under his nose when he was the chief minister? Hypocrite of the highest order!!

No news of Abvp or affiliate organisation coming out on streets and condemning violence against women who consider them as Devi`s (Godess). worship them in temples and at home and touch feet.
Is this a culture catch them and molest them This not culture. This uncivilized vultures fed by BJP/ABVP for garnering votes No body bothers about culture even devil also will not do this kind of acts,devil also will not forgive these people.
If BJP and its affiliates not involved in this kind unforgivable acts let come on the streets and protest against the crime and demand strict action.Instead a bad character certificate issued by an institution they come and demonstrate.For victims to support the girls ABVP has no time. |
