Mangalore: The CCB police have arrested twelve persons so far in connection with the illegal trespass and assault on young men and women at a homestay at Padil on July 28.
The eight accused who were arrested on Sunday, July 29:
Subhas Padil (36) of Veeranagar
Ganesh aka Munna (27) of Kannur Perla
Sharat Perlaguri (29) of Radhakrishna Nagar of Padavinangadi
Sandeep Shetty (29) of Amblamogaru
Taranath Perla (28) of Kannur
Venugopal Karmar (44) of Padil
Taranath Alva (45) of Padil
Rajesh Panjibail (29) of Shaktinagar
They have been remanded to judicial custody up to August 9.
The four arrested on Monday:
Shailesh Jalligudde (23) of Bajal
Harish Kembar (25) of Alape
Chetan (25) of Naguri
Sunil (24) of Ganesh Nagar, Thokkottu
These four have been remanded to judicial custody up to August 10. |

You have said it right?? Any dummy who owns a cell phone knows police control room number. Naveen's story has many holes and he is hurting himself. With this story his dreams of booming supper hero, dare devil reporter, new exclusive SUV some assistants and a lavish expense account are all gone with the wind. His employers must be desperately trying tomputba lid on this and hire lawyers to defend law suits.
Naveen is giving Insp. Naik's name as his police contact. And for the same reason Insp Naik is removed as head of case investigation. Who and how they are going to,manipulate date/time record of missed call on insp. Naik,s phone and out going call on Naveen's phone if it is not true. That alone will blow the top off.
No doubt job well done by Naveen. But very badly executed and therefore not to expect support. The victims too have friends and relatives who blame him.

But, I don't approve the media reporter stating that he was trying the mobile # of local police Inspector,but SI did not answer his call, whereas he should have called the Control Room # 100, where all calls get answered & recorded. This is what common public know whereas how come the journalist does not know this basic procedure of crime reporting to police?

I have inquired with a reliable media person in M'lore over phone who told me that these HJV goons collect hafta from local business-persons and hence they want some media coverage to terrorize the business-persons, b'coz they know very well that when they take the safron cover, police would release them or police would make the case against them "weak", so that prosecution cannot get conviction [I have seen my late dad public prosecutor getting angry with police for making the case weak with improper 'mahajar', etc.]
Initially TV9 Kannada too had mentioned on that day, abut the rumour that boys & girls appeared to be from different communities, hence the attack, which is now revealed by Nabvin Soorinje.
Hope the entire Sangha Parivara would follow the great advice of Hon'ble Shri AB Vajapayee to Pakistan "Pehle Insaan bano, insaaniyat dikhaavo; Be human first, Show HUMANITY", instead of attack on weak GIRLS in Home stay by DRUNK goons of Safron Brigade & subsequently creating rucus by BJP Corporators in Mangalore Municipal Corp'n [just b'coz of their BRUTE majority] with verbal attack against woman Corporator [of CPI] Jayanati Shetty who had the guts to tell the TRUTH.
Anyway, these HJV goons are just pawns or foot soldiers in the hands of the corrupt leaders of Sangha Parivaara who won't be touched by the Police of BJP Govt and they are relaxing in their posh houses & cars, when the foot soldiers are feeling the temporary heat behind the bars, b'coz of public outcry.
Also, Police Commissioner's threat as below to Rajesh Rao of media deserves condemnation

Truth indeed hurts. Arun raised an important issue regarding only the lower caste people getting arrested and hauled to court in communal incidents. When it comes to protecting 'cows' it is always the names that Arun mentioned appear in papers. How come?
Are the upper caste people not interested in stopping cattle trafficking or so-called immoral activities?
True, as someone commented, all these moral policing activities are remote-controlled from laptops from abroad.
Those masterminding communal flare-ups are sitting safe at home, with their children in high places in the US or elsewhere. Using others' sons as foot-soldiers seems to their trade secret.

The karnataka high court has said
"Nobody comes to court with issues concerning attack on women. You call Mangalore the cultural capital of the state but attacks happen on women there,"
We have so many lawyers and social organizations in Mangalore. Can somebody file a couple of PIL's so that the Court can atleast direct the government and local police to take some action for such incidents to stop. |

I think these people should be punished with community service after their jailterm. All these people should be made to work 3000 hours at old age homes, widow homes or a Hospital and taught to respect women and care for them.
Also, I read that none of the girls filed charges, What is the responsibility of the State?If a perosn is murdered does it not become a case of State VS Murderer? Why the same principle apply here?
These people will escape punishment if no one comes forward, We should start a legal fund for those girls to fight the case.

ಒಂದೈದು ನಿಮಿಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಡೀಲ್ ಗುಡ್ಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮಾನರ್ಿಂಗ್ ಮಿಸ್ಬಾ ಎನ್ನುವ ಹೋಂ ಸ್ಟೇ ಅಥವಾ ಗೆಸ್ಟ್ ಹೌಸ್ ಹೊರಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಮತ್ತು ನನ್ನ ಕ್ಯಾಮರಮೆನ್ ಇದ್ದೆವು. ಆಗ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ದಾಳಿಕೋರರೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಐದು ನಿಮಿಷ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಕಾದು ನಿಂತೆವು. ಯಾರು ಯಾಕಾಗಿ ಈ ಹೋಂ ಸ್ಟೇಗೆ ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಿದ್ದತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಗೊತ್ತೇ ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಪಡೀಲ್ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಿಂದ ಅಂದಾಜು ಅರ್ಧ ಕಿಮಿ ರಸ್ತೆ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಹೋಂ ಸ್ಟೇ ಇದೆ. ಇದರ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ದೊಡ್ಡದಾದ ಕಂಪೌಂಡ್ ಇದೆ. ಒಂದೇ ಒಂದು ಗೇಟ್ ಇದೆ. ಗೇಟ್ನಿಂದ 60 ಮೀಟರ್ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಂ ಸ್ಟೇ ಬಂಗಲೆ ಇದೆ. ನಾನು ಗೇಟ್ ಹತ್ತಿರ ನಿಂತು ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಇಡೀ ಬಂಗಲೆಯತ್ತಾ ಕಣ್ಣಾಡಿಸಿದೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಕಾರಣವಾಗುವಂತಹ ಯಾವುದೇ ಆ್ಯಕ್ಟಿವಿಟೀಸ್ ನನಗೆ ಗೋಚರಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಒಬ್ಬಳು ಹುಡುಗಿ ಹೊರಗೆ ಚೇರ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದಳು. ಇನ್ನಿಬ್ಬರು ಹುಡುಗರು ಬಂಗಲೆಯ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಮೂಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ಮೊಬೈಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಟವಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಯಾವುದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ಕಾನೂನು ಬಾಹಿರ ಕೃತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ದಾಳಿಕೋರರು ಬಯಸುವ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶ ಅಲ್ಲಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಆಗಲೂ ನನಗೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರಿಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಬೇಕು ಅನ್ನಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನನ್ನ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ತಪ್ಪಾದರೆ ಒಂದಿಡೀ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಇಲಾಖೆಗೆ ತಪ್ಪು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದಂತಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಮತ್ತು ಹೋಂ ಸ್ಟೇಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವರಿಗೆ ವಿನಾಕಾರಣ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಕಿರುಕುಳ ನೀಡಲು ಕಾರಣನಾಗುವಂತಾಗುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂಬ ಆತಂಕದಿಂದಲೇ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನಾನು ಈ ರೀತಿ ಯೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಸುಮಾರು ಮೂವತ್ತೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಇದ್ದ ತಂಡವೊಂದು ಹೋಂ ಸ್ಟೇಯ ಗೇಟಿನತ್ತಾ ಬರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ನಾನು ತಕ್ಷಣ ಕುತೂಹಲದಿಂದಲೇ ಕೇಳಿದೆ. ``ಏನು ವಿಷಯ? ಏನಾಗ್ತಾ ಇದೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ?'' ಎಂದು ತುಳುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದೆ. ತಕ್ಷಣ ಯುವಕನೊಬ್ಬ ``ಬ್ಯಾರಿಗಳು ನಮ್ಮ ಹಿಂದೂ ಹುಡುಗಿಯರನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಡಬಾರದು'' ಎಂದ. ಅಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಗುಂಪಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಇನ್ನಿತರ ಯುವಕರು ಹೊರಗೆ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದ ಹುಡುಗಿಯತ್ತಾ ಕೈ ತೋರಿಸಿ ``ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾಳೆ ಹುಡುಗಿ, ಅಗೋ ಹುಡುಗರು ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ '' ಎಂದು ಯುವಕ ಯುವತಿಯರತ್ತಾ ಓಡಿಕೊಂಡು ದಾಳಿಗೆ ಸಿದ್ದರಾದರು. ತಕ್ಷಣ ದಾಳಿ ಅರಿವಾದ ಯುವತಿ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನು ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಬಂಗಲೆಯ ಒಳ ಹೋದಳು. ಮತ್ತು ಬಾಗಿಲು ಹಾಕಲು ಯತ್ನಿಸಿದಳು. ಆಗ ಸುಮಾರು 30 ರಷ್ಟಿದ್ದ ದಾಳಿಕೋರರು ಬಾಗಿಲನ್ನು ಬಲವಾಗಿ ದೂಡಿ ಬಾಗಿಲು ತೆರೆಯುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಫಲರಾದರು.
ಈಗ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಜಾಗೃತವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ತಕ್ಷಣ ನನ್ನ ಕಚೇರಿ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ 9972570044 ನಿಂದ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮಾಂತರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಕ ರವೀಶ್ ನಾಯಕ್ಗೆ 9480805330 ಎಂಬ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗೆ ಕರೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆ. ಆಗ ಸುಮಾರು 7.15 ರ ಸಂಜೆ ಸಮಯ. ರವೀಶ್ ನಾಯಕ್ ನನ್ನ ಕರೆ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಒಂದು ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ದಾಳಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗಿದೆಯಷ್ಟೆ. ಇನ್ನೇನು ಆಗುತ್ತೋ ಎಂಬ ಆತಂಕದ ನಡುವೆಯೇ ಕಕ್ಕಾಬಿಕ್ಕಿಯಾದ ಹುಡುಗಿಯರು ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲೋ ಓಡಲು ಶುರುವಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಪೊಲೀಸರಿಗೆ ಫೋನ್ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಕರೆ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಬೇರೆ ದಾರಿ ಕಾಣದೆ ಟಿವಿ 9 ವರದಿಗಾರನಾಗಿರುವ ನನ್ನ ಗೆಳೆಯ ರಾಜೇಶ್ ರಾವ್ ಬಳಿ ಪೊಲೀಸರಿಗೆ ಫೋನ್ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆ. ರಾಜೇಶ್ ರಾವ್ ಅವರ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ನಿಂದ ಇನ್ಸ್ಸ್ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ ರವೀಶ್ ನಾಯಕ್ಗೆ ಕರೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಆಗಲೂ ರವೀಶ್ ನಾಯಕ್ ಕರೆ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
ನಾವು ಇನ್ಸ್ಸ್ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ಗೆ ಫೋನ್ ಕರೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಕ್ಯಾಮರಾಮೆನ್ ದಾಳಿಕೋರರ ಹಿಂದೆಯೇ ಹೋಗಿ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ. ನಾನು ಮತ್ತು ನನ್ನ ಕ್ಯಾಮರಮೆನ್ ಮಾತ್ರ ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೆವು. ಅಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಹಾಯ ಎಂಬ ಕೇಬಲ್ ಚಾನೆಲ್ ಕ್ಯಾಮರಮೆನ್ ಶರಣ್ ಮತ್ತು ಫೋಟೋಗ್ರಾಫರ್ ವಿನಯ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದರು. ನಾನು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಮೂಕ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕನಾಗಿ ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನನಗೇನೂ ಮಾಡಲಾರದ ಅಪರಾಧಿ ಮನೋಭಾವ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡಿತ್ತು. ದಾಳಿಕೋರರಲ್ಲಿ ಶೇಕಡಾ 50ಕ್ಕೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಮಂದಿ ಮಧ್ಯಪಾನ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು. ನಾನು ಹೇಳಿದರೂ ಕೇಳೋ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಏನೇನೋ ಹಿಂಸೆಗಳು ನಡೆದಿರಬಹುದು. ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಜೀವಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂತಹ ಹಿಂಸೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನನ್ನ ಕ್ಯಾಮರಾಮೆನ್ ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರೋ ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ಓಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ. ನಾನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದಷ್ಟೂ ಕಿರಿಚುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ. ``ಏ ಹುಡುಗಿರಿಗೆ ಹೊಡಿಬೇಡ್ರಿ'' ಎಂತ ಬೊಬ್ಬೆ ಹೊಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ. ನನ್ನ ಬೊಬ್ಬೆ ನನ್ನ ಕ್ಯಾಮರಾದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದೆಯೇ ವಿನಹ ದಾಳಿಕೋರರ ಹೃದಯಕ್ಕೆ ತಟ್ಟಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಹಲ್ಲೆಗೆ ಒಳಗಾದ ಯುವಕರು ಗೋಗೆರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ``ಪ್ಲೀಸ್ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡಿ. ನಾವು ಬತರ್್ ಡೇ ಪಾಟರ್ಿ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ, ಪ್ಲೀಸ್'' ಎಂದು ಕಾಲಿಗೆ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೂ ಕ್ರೂರಿ ದಾಳಿಕೋರರ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಕರಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇಷ್ಟೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಾನು ಮರೆತುಬಿಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಮುಂದೆ ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದು ಭೀಭತ್ಸ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳು.
ನಾಲ್ವರು ಹುಡುಗರಿಗೆ ದಾಳಿಕೋರರು ಬಡಿಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ದೃಶ್ಯ ನೋಡಿ ಶಾಕ್ಗೆ ಒಳಗಾದ ಯುವತಿಯರು ದಿಕ್ಕಾಪಾಲಾಗಿ ಓಡಲು ಶುರುವಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡರು. ಬಂಗಲೆಯ ತುಂಬಾ ಓಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಯುವತಿಯರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಒಂದಷ್ಟು ದಾಳಿಕೋರರ ಓಟ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ನಂಬಿದರೆ ನಂಬಿ. ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಬಿಡಿ. ಒಬ್ಬಳು ಹುಡುಗಿ ಒಂದನೇ ಮಹಡಿಯಿಂದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಜಿಗಿದಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಅವಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೂ ಅಧಿಕ ದಾಳಿಕೋರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರು ಆಕೆಯ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಚೆಲ್ಲಾಪಿಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆಕೆಯ ಕೆನ್ನೆಗೆ ಬಿಗಿದು, ಗೋಡೆಗೆ ನೂಕಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿಂಕ್ ಡ್ರೆಸ್ ತೊಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಹುಡುಗಿಯೊಬ್ಬಳು ಓಡಲು ಶುರುವಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಳು. ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದ ಗೂಂಡಾ ದಾಳಿಕೋರರು ಅಕ್ಷರಶ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆತ್ತಲು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಒಂದು ತುಂಡು ವಸ್ತ್ರ ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿ ವಿವಸ್ತ್ರ ಮಾಡಿದ ನಂತರ ಆಕೆಯ ಅಂಗಾಂಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಉದ್ದೇಶಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಕ್ಷರಶ ಅಧೀರನನ್ನಾಗಿಸಿದ ಧೃಶ್ಯ. ಈ ರೀತಿಯ ದೃಶ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಜೀವಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೆ. ಇವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ವಿಶುವಲ್ ಆಗದೇ ಇರುವಂತದ್ದು. ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ ಆಗಿದ್ದು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವೇ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಭಾಗ. ಆನಂತರ ಪಾಟರ್ಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹುಡುಗ ಹುಡುಗಿಯರನ್ನು ಒಂದೇ ಕೋಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿ ಚಿಲಕ ಹಾಕಿದರು. ಇವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದು ಮಿಂಚಿನ ವೇಗದಲ್ಲಿ. ಹೆಚ್ಚೆಂದರೆ 15 ನಿಮಿಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಇವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಮುಗಿದು ಹೋಗಿತ್ತು.
ದಾಳಿಕೋರರ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ ಒಂದು ಹಂತಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಗಿದ ನಂತರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಇನ್ಸ್ಸ್ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ ರವೀಶ್ ನಾಯಕ್, ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಎಸೈ ಮುನಿಕಂಠ ನೀಲಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪೋಲೀಸ್ ಪೇದೆಗಳು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ವಿಶೇಷ ಎಂದರೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರಿಗೆ ದಾಳಿಕೋರರ ಜೊತೆ ಮೊದಲೇ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಇರೋ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ವತರ್ಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸುಮಾರು ಅರ್ಧ ಗಂಟೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಾಲ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ದಾಳಿಕೋರರ ಜೊತೆ ಮಾತಕತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಲ್ಲೀನರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ದಾಳಿಕೋರರ ಬಂಧಿಸುವ ಬದಲು ಅವರ ಜೊತೆ ಹರಟೆ ಹೊಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ನನಗೆ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯ ಉಂಟು ಮಾಡಿತ್ತು. ಇವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಪಾಟರ್ಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಯುವಕನೊಬ್ಬ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ. ತಕ್ಷಣ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಆ ಯುವಕನನ್ನು ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡರು. ಪೊಲೀಸರ ವಶದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಯುವಕನಿಗೆ ದಾಳಿಕೋರರು ಪೊಲೀಸರ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲೇ ಹಲ್ಲೆ ನಡೆಸಿದರು.
ಅಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟೂ ಕ್ಯಾಮರಮೆನ್ಗಳು ಬಂದಿದ್ದರು. ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಕ್ಯಾಮರಮೆನ್ ಜೊತೆ ಕಚೇರಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಝುವಲ್ಸ್ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಕಚೇರಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಲಿಂಕ್ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. 7.45 ಕ್ಕೇ ವರದಿ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಯಿತು. ವರದಿ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾದ ಕೆಲವೇ ನಿಮಿಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಚಾನೆಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ವರದಿ ಮತ್ತು ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ವಾಹಿನಿಗಳು ಬಳಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಸುದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದವು. ತಕ್ಷಣ ಇದೊಂದು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸುದ್ಧಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಪಡಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇದರಿಂದ ತೀವ್ರ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಆಯುಕ್ತ ಸೀಮಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ನನ್ನ ಗೆಳೆಯ, ಟಿವಿ 9 ವರದಿಗಾರ ರಾಜೇಶ್ ರಾವ್ಗೆ ದೂರವಾಣಿ ಕರೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ರಾಜೇಶ್ಗೆ ಸೀಮಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಕರೆ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ನಾನೂ ಕೂಡಾ ರಾಜೇಶ್ ಜೊತೆಗಿದ್ದೆ. ಸೀಮಂತ್ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ರಾಜೇಶ್ ಲೌಡ್ ಸ್ಪೀಕರ್ ಇಟ್ಟು ನನಗೆ ಕೇಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ. ``ನವೀನ ನ್ಯೂಸ್ ಯಾಕೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಅಕ್ಕ ತಂಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲವಾ ? ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೊಡೆಯಲ್ವ ? ಅದನ್ನು ಟಿವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೋರಿಸ್ತಾರಾ ? ನೋಡ್ಕೋತೀನಿ ನಾನು ಅವನನ್ನು. ಅವನು ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಾಲೀಬಾನ್ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ. ಅಸ್ಸಾಂನ ಘಟನೆಗೆ ಈ ಘಟನೆಯನ್ನು ಹೋಲಿಸಿ ಲೈವ್ ಕೊಟ್ಟ. ಈ ಬಾರಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಕೇಸ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಫಿಕ್ಸ್ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಬೇಕಾದರೂ ಇಂಪ್ಲ್ಯೂಯನ್ಸ್ ಇರಲಿ. ಫಿಕ್ಸ್ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಮಾಡೋದೆ'' ಎಂದು ಸೀಮಂತ್ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ``ಹುಡುಗಿಯರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಹುಡುಗರಿಗೆ ಹೊಡೆದಿದ್ದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ವಿಷಯ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಅದನ್ನು ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಿಸಿದ್ದು ಮಹಾ ಅಪರಾಧ ಎಂಬುದಷ್ಟೇ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಆಯುಕ್ತ ಸೀಮಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಮಾತಿನ ಅರ್ಥ ಎಂಬುದಂತೂ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ.
ಇಂದು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ನನಗೆ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಶಾಕ್ ಕಾದಿತ್ತು. ನಾನು ಯಾರ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೋ ಅವರೇ ನನ್ನ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮಾಂತರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೂರು ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು. ನನಗೆ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಗೊತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಹಲ್ಲೆಗೊಳಗಾದ ಯಾವುದೇ ಹುಡುಗ ಹುಡುಗಿ ಸ್ವ ಇಚ್ಚೆಯಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ದೂರು ನೀಡಲು ಸಾದ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ಲೀಸ್ ಹೊಡಿಯಬೇಡಿ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದಷ್ಟು ಬೊಬ್ಬೆ ಹಾಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದದ್ದು ಹಲ್ಲೆಗೊಳಗಾದ ಯುವತಿಯರಿಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿತ್ತು ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಸಂಜೆಯಾಗುವಾಗ ನನ್ನ ಡೌಟ್ ಕ್ಲೀಯರ್ ಆಗಿತ್ತು. ಮಾಧ್ಯಮದ ಜೊತೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಹಲ್ಲೆಗೊಳಗಾದ ಯುವಕರು ``ನಾವು ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಮಂದಿ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ದೂರು ನೀಡಿಲ್ಲ. ನಮಗೆ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮದವರು ಸಪೋಟರ್್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ'' ಎಂದರು.
ಅದೇನೇ ಇರಲಿ. ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮಾಂತರ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ನನ್ನ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕಾನೂನು ಬಾಹಿರ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆ ತಡೆ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪೊಲೀಸರು ನಾವು ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಿಸಿದ ವಿಝುವಲ್ಸ್ ಆಧಾರದಲ್ಲೇ ಈವರೆಗೆ 8 ಮಂದಿ ದಾಳಿಕೋರರನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಾವು ಒಂದು ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಾರ್ಹ ಘಟನೆಯನ್ನು ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಿಸಿ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಪ್ರಸಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆಯೇ ಹೊರತು ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಾರ್ಹ ದೃಶ್ಯವನ್ನಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದು ನನಗೆ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟತೆ ಇದೆ. ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಜುಲೈ 28 ರಾತ್ರಿ ನಡೆದ ದಾಳಿ ಹೊಸದೇನೂ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರತೀ ವಾರಕ್ಕೊಂದು ಇಂತಹ ಘಟನೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಹುಡುಗ ಹಿಂದೂ ಹುಡುಗಿ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಹಿಂದೂ ಮತೀಯವಾದಿಗಳು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹಲ್ಲೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಮತೀಯವಾದಿಗಳೇ ಅವರನ್ನು ಠಾಣೆಗೆ ಕೊಂಡೊಯ್ದು ಪೊಲೀಸರ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಪ್ರೇಮಿ(ಗೆಳೆಯರು)ಗಳ ತಂದೆ ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಕರೆಸಿ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಾವು ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಡದೇ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲೂ ಅಷ್ಟೇ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ನಮ್ಮ ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ನಿಂದ ಕೋಮುವಾದಿಗಳ ಒಂದು ಕ್ರೂರ ಮುಖ ಬಯಲಾಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಎಂಟು ಮಂದಿ ಬಂಧಿತರಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಯಾರು ಏನೇ ಅನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ. ಯಾವ ಕೇಸೇ ಬೀಳಲಿ. ನಾನು ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತನಾಗಿ ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಏನೋ ನ್ಯಾಯ ನೀಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಅನ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ನನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸಧ್ಯ ಅಂತಹ ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಸಾಕು.
ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ದೂರು ನೀಡಿರುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ನನ್ನ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಎಫ್ಐಆರ್ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿರುವುದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ವಿಷಯವೇ ಅಲ್ಲ. ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲಿನ ಎಫ್ಐಆರ್ನಿಂದ ದಾಳಿಕೋರ ಕ್ರೂರಿ ಮೃಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗುವುದಾದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲಿನ ಎಫ್ಐಆರನ್ನು ನಾನು ಖುಷಿ ಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ಒತ್ತಡಕ್ಕೆ ಮಣಿದು ಆರೋಪದಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಅಂತಹ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಿಂದ ಆರೋಪಿ ದಾಳಿಕೋರರಿಗೆ ಲಾಭವಾಗುವುದಾದರೆ ಆಂತಹ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ನನಗೆ ಬೇಕಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ನನ್ನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲೇ ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರಿಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಿದ ದಾಳಿಕೋರರಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯ ಅದೆಂತಹ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ನೀಡಿದರೂ ನ್ಯಾಯ ನೀಡಿದಂತಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು.

Good to learn this time police has taken some action under pressure and hope all those involved will be caught soon and punished.
