| Bangalore: Presence of Other 'Khaki' and Batons at Railway Station Raises Eyebrows |

Team Mangalorean - Bangalore from Shweta Somaya
Bangalore: Thousands of citizens hailing from the northeastern states currently based in the city have been on an exodus mode over the past few days. A sense of panic and insecurity has been created by vested interests about the hazards of living here, through text messages on mobiles.
Chief minister Jagadish Shettar, home minister Ashoka, law minister Suresh Kumar and others themselves spent time in the railway station speaking to those fleeing in panic, the student community in particular, and offering assurances of security and safety. Not much seemed to have worked.
However, in the middle of the security provided by the force in official khakhi - the police, the presence of the 'other' khakhi and batons seems to have added to the sense of scare among those rushing back to their home states. A large number of RSS swayamsevaks, flashing lathis in their hands, were seen moving around inside the central railway station here on Wednesday and Thursday.
Speaking to this correspondent, many students expressed an apprehension that the departing students could be forcibly made to stay back and even assaulted in case of refusal. Besides, other normal passengers too were worried if some trouble could flare up anytime.
The police (as the picture shows) were literally looking the other way, when the parallel policing was in progress. None of these volunteers was questioned by the police or by the railway staff for the platform tickets to be produced. |

Good job by RSS, but our paid media channels are not ready diclose good works done by RSS. They are still busy with mangalore home stay attack adding their own mirch masalas. Also where are different vedikes now who made hue and cry of mangalore home stay attack. What's their role on such things??
@ Shameer, UAE RSS is wearing Khaki chaddi do you have any problem. What are you doing sitting in UAE?? You people behave as if you are saints or patriots or always worried about our nation.

| The funny part of the whole story, why everybody is supporting bangladeshis who are immigrants, they may be,muslims/Hindus or christians.Do not mix religion in this matter and make it communal.I think most of the people are educated and know the real situation, whts happening and government is not doing anything from many years.I request all the people from all religion to be matured and not to make things communal.only thing government should do is catch the guys who are making false news of threatining north east people.. |

| Dear Rajesh, good that you gave the link address. Though we cannot blame the community as a whole, but still it is a fact that good number of them support this kind of violence. There are very few learned people like Mr. Suhail. They do this and if anything happens in retaliation they start to claim that they are being targeted and attrocities are done against them etc. Very sad. But i still love & respect them and pray God to enlighten them. |

| I think we should not politize the issue,i think RSS is doing a right think supporting the cause, being a Indian its the duty of each every citizen to help people from north east. The situation is complex its problem of immgrants from Bangladesh causing the disturbance in assam and inturn its the external force are providing the support to fanatic indian muslim to create a problem in the region, being a muslim and indian its our duty to help hand in hand to brothers of north east and not to indulge in blaming games. |

Hello Readers,
I am a pseudo secular and therefore I fully oppose RSS. I also strongly believe that the NE students are creating this drama to give bad name to peace loving Muslim community.

I'm deeply surprised that even without becoming cop 'legally' one could enjoy special privilages wearing a 'Khaki shorts' and flashing a 'Lathi'
Kudos to our karnataka cops ...they proved they are inefficient! |

Very rightly said Rajesh these Shameer, UAE Kind of people feel ashamed & feel nuicense seeing chaddis in public, but they dont mind enjoying today's film heroins in two piece or swim suits.
The problem with shameer, UAE kind of people is to oppose whatever service an hindu organisation does irrespective of the intention behind it.

While anyone is free to wear any dress and hang around anywhere. Holding sticks in a sensitive situation like this is stupidity. I am surprised the police are letting them hang around with those sticks. I can understand why the North Eastern would be scared of this graphic.
It appears the RSS is trying to make a name for themselves in this desperate situation. |

| When OIC, Pakistan and other islamic nations are intervening in Burma for muslims, that doesnt seem to be a problem for media or any other organisation but when RSS is pitching for not Hindus but Indians, even that is a big issue with all my dear countrymen....Muslim groups are threatening NE people and thats not mentioned anywhere in Indian News, its only on NYtimes and Washington post that you see reference to Muslim outfits behind these rumors.....but if a Hindu organisation comes to rescue, only then it becomes a communal issue.....how biased we can become...The pro-muslim policies and pampering is responsible for muslims to remain sidelined in widely hindu country and fuel hatred, discrimination against them, a reason why Muslims will always remain a second class citizen in India irrespective of all the minority advantages they get |

"...many students expressed an apprehension that the departing students could be forcibly made to stay back and even assaulted in case of refusal" - A pure, self-defeating speculation even in the face of real threat by 'peaceful' groups!!
Dear Students,
Was there any incident of RSS guys forcing the students to stay back? This self-defeating speculation is counter productive as you guys are already suffering in the hands of 'peaceful' groups in Northeast regions!! It is time to wake up and see the real threat rather than speculating on the groups that have always protected you. |

real fact :
Food served by IAC, RSS, ABVP
Even on Thursday, the ABVP camp remained open at the railway station, and members went around meeting various families, trying to inspire confidence in the northeast community people to stay back. They also served food for the people waiting at the railway station to get tickets to go home in the morning.

It is a total irresponsibility of Karnataka Governemnt allowing RSS members to maitain Law and order. What if Jamaat-e-Islam members did the same thing?
If security is needed Govt. can use the Home Guards or Reserve Police Force - not the religious fanatics. The Administration has gone to dogs.

Like we criticize groups like HJV for the wrong going in Mangalore we also should appreciate these kind of Acts by group. Its not about RSS or Hindu Groups. Any group when they do good lets have a appreciation extended to them. I personally am not a big fan of any of these religious group Be it RSS, HJV or KFD or Popular front. all are involved in more wrong doings than good.. but end of the day over here the situation is something positive. Lets all respect it.
And @Faiz Lets not go derogatory without any sense.. lets keep out religious sentiment out of this. we Hindus have flaws and at the same time Islam is also flawed in many ways. Lets Fight wrong things in both end and appreciate good in both. Lets have a equal measuring scale for all.. and kindly dont give one sided news or news limited to a certain section. |

Such a shame.
If RSS comes to help you guys blame them for that as well ?
Wow, incredible.
Well seems you have not seen RSS working in all tragedies that india faces. Be it a drought or any mishap.
I will give you a story, Go to Maharashtra and visit various hostels of RSS for NE kids, they provide them food, security, home and money to study and no religious conversation. I have been to these places. |

Dear Countrymen
Stop this nonsense. Who are RSS to monitor law and order? It is these very men who spread rumours through e-mail, sms and mms. And then potray as if they are the protectors. It is high time the intelligent people of India shun these anti social elements. From the presence of these RSS men in the railway station, it is very clear that RSS is calling the shots in Karnataka. There is absolutely no law and order. The Government is mum. So are the police. Tomorrow other organisations and outfits may start moral policing. STOP THIS NONSENSE OF RSS AND BJP. |
