Mangalore: As the rumours had spread around  the city of the death of a person by drinking Nandini milk, Marketing Manager  of Dakshina Kannada Co-operative Milk producers Union Ltd Dr B V Sathyanarayana held a press meet at Hotel Woodlands here on August 20.

Addressing the mediapersons Dr Sathyanarayana said, "Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) is a reputed name in Milk producing and it has reached record level in milk procurement.  KMF is also certified with ISO 22000:2005. and it is very pure in quality.  We know where the supply of milk comes from and we check the quality of the milk. 

At around 8.15 a.m, we started to receive calls from consumers and as of 11 a.m we are still getting the news about the rumours of a death by consuming Nandini milk.  He said the rumours are false, there is no incident of death resulted in consuming our product in the city or in the district. 

After getting the calls, we have brought back the milk from the dealers, boiled the milk and consumed but nothing went wrong and we assure that the milk is not poisonous.  He further said,  "Quality Excellence from Cow to Consumer” – is the motto of the Federation to obtain better-quality Milk and milk products from our value chain (Procurement to Processing to Marketing).  In a way Nandini Milk and Milk Products are “Spreading wealth of health”,  he said.
