Bhatkal: A 21-year-old engineering student of Anjuman Institute of Technology and Management, Bhatkal was killed in a road accident on August 27. According to the police, he was travelling along with his friend from Bhatkal railway station to the Anjuman hostel on a scooter when their two-wheeler skidded near Pushpanjali Theatre on National Highway 17.
The deceased has been identified as Praveen Kumar (21) who was killed on the spot due to head injury while the pillion rider identified as Tauqeer (21) escaped with minor injuries.


Police said the accident took place around 7.00 am. Praveen Kumar S/o Naresh Singh was a native of Gaya in Bihar State. He was a final year BE student in Mechanical Engineering Department.
Anjuman Vice president Ansar Kashimji, General Secretary Abdul Raheem Jukaku, Vice principal Udaya Prasanna, Secretary Abubakar Kashimji, MJ Abdul Raqeeb, Javid Armar, amongst other staff and students rushed to the Govt hospital as soon as they heard the news.
A case has been registered in Bhatkal Town Police station. |
