Mangalore: The deputy speaker, Yogish Bhat inaugurated the "Fernandes Academy" at Valencia here on September 3. Fr Ravi Santhosh Kamath blessed the premises and prayed for the success of 'Fernandes Academy'.
The programme was inaugurated by Yogish Bhat by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais. Proprietor Fernandes Group Wilson Fernandes welcomed the gathering. Inaugurating the Academy Yogish Bhat said, "Mangalore City is growing very fast and it has developed in every sector. We are seeing new innovations in this City, we are planning to make Mangalore a tourism destination, he said. The government has taken up a unique project of the Ring Road to promote commercial, tourism and residential projects. We are also planning to have a international standard golf course in the city, and also a planetarium, which the government has finalized the project too.



























He said after Bangalore, Mangalore is the second fastest growing district in the state. Even we are extending the runway of the airport from 8,000 to 13,500 ft. Mangalore will soon see developments in every field and it will be a large tourism hub. Further he said we have several nursing institutes and the Fernandes Academy has brought a new concept of training nurses who would like to work in foreign countries. Mangaloreans always want good service, and Fernandes Academy will provide transparent service to the society and the people of Mangalore will be benefited, he opined. He also said that the Fernandes group which is serving from the past 19 years will retain its credibility in training the candidates and preparing them for better future.
The website of Fernandes Academy was launched by Dr Mohan Alva on the occasion. Dr Alva, addressing the gathering said that, In the 31 districts of the state, Mangalore and Udupi districts have developed in education and Medical field. Both the districts have always delivered quality education to the students and trained them to be a good citizens. Our educational Institutions are recognized internationally, we are lacking in providing employment. To get employment students need to be trained. So that when they finish their education they face the society confidently. Normally when the students go for interview, the company is looking for talented candidates and the smart students always get jobs. Fernandes group has done a wonderful job by starting the training academy for the students who are willing to go abroad or take up employment. Dr Alva assured his full support towards the venture.
KPCC Secretary Ivan D'Souza, Fr Richard Coelho, Mayor Gulzar Banu also spoke on the occasion. Managing Director Leena Fernandes delivered the vote of thanks. Stany D'Souza compered the programme.
