Mangalore: A Konkani writer and poet J B Sequeira aged 75 years died in Melbourne, Australia on September 6 at 8.30 a.m in his residence.
J. B. Sequeira, originally from Mangalore who later settled in Mumbai, is a well known poet and has authored 13 books out of which Mookhavaram/ Movlam in three volumes is a famous masterpiece. He has bagged Kendra "Sahitya Akademi Award" in the year 1988. He has also bagged "Dr. TMA Pai Foundation Award" and Sandesha Award.

| We are sorry to hear the sudden demise of our dear friend JB Seqeira a renowned Konkani Poet and writer. He was closely associated with Konkani movement and our Bhasha Mandal. We will miss him greatly. We convey our condolence and sympathy to the beraved family. May the almighty give them enough strength to bear the loss.
