Mangalore: Leaders and Prominent Citizens Pay Tribute to MJF I A Kairanna

Mangalore: The District Congress leaders, Deputy commissioner and the Scouts and guides cadets  paid their last respects to the  retired physical education teacher of St Aloysius High School and former district level official of Scouts and Guides, MJF Lion I A Kairanna at his residence on September 13.

The body of 84 year old Late MJF Lion I A Kairanna was taken in a procession from his residence, Kairanna Building near Jyoti Circle, which reached Gorigudda Cemetery around 5pm. Deputy commissioner Dr Chennappa Gowda, MLA U T Khader, KPCC Secretary Ivan D'Souza, Corporators Vijayakumar Shetty and Ranganath Kini, Sadanand Shetty and many cadets from Scouts and guides were present to pay the last respects. He was also honoured by Building Society of Mangalore, Lions Club of Kankanady, Friend in Need Society, Balmatta Musical Association, St. Aloysius High School Staff, and a special honour by Bharath Scouts and guides.

MJF Lion I A Kairanna, had joined St Aloysius High School in 1954 as a Physical Education trainer and served for 32 years.  He had joined the Scouts movement in 1949 and steadily ascended to various ranks like King's Scout and Rover Scout and underwent Scoutmaster training in 1953.  He actively served in various posts as president, Secretary and Scout Commissioner.

Prayers were held for the soul of MJF Lion I A Kairanna at the Gorigudda cemetery, Valencia and the final rites were held with due respects. Even the media was there to cover the proceedings. May his Soul Rest in Peace.
