Mangalore Dec 24: As the Legend goes "Long time ago in Bethlehem, so the holy Bible says, Mary’s boy child Jesus Christ was born on Christmas day."

The festival of Christmas was celebrated all over Mangalore with pomp and gaiety. Holy Mass was celebrated in all the churches across the city, decorated with lightings, Christmas trees, Stars, along with the Crib giving a testimony of the event that took place 2006 years ago. Many of the Churches in Mangalore started the Christmas service between 7 to 7.30pm where as the services at some churches were held at mid night.

Bishop of Mangalore, Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza concelebrated the grand mass at Rosario Cathedral.

Evening Liturgy was started with Christmas Carols followed by Holy mass in all the churches in and around Mangalore. People attended the holy mass were seen in joyful spirit wishing their near and dear ones and spreading the love, sharing happiness of  Christmas spirit all over the place.

There were also cultural programmes and games organized in some churches. Here are the glimpses of celebrations from some churches in the city including Milagres, Rosario Cathedral, Anjelore, Urwa etc.
