Dharmasthala Feb 4: On Sunday morning the joy of devotees knew no bounds, for after a span of 12 years the moment they longed for finally arrived. It was for the public to actively participate in the Mahamastakabhisheka.

The Agrodaka procession was held in the morning. The procession set out from Beedu to Ratnagiri hills.

The Mahamastakabhisheka with 1008 kalashas was offered by Arahanthanatha Swamy Digambara Jaina Samaj of Jainara Beedi of Mandya.

People were seen waiting in the queue filled with devotion for their turn and had a satisfied look after offering Abhisheka.

Lord Bahubali’s monolith was anointed with Tender Coconut Water, Sugarcane Juice, Milk, Kalka Churna, Kashaya ans Chatushkona Kalashas. Later Sandalwood paste, Chandana and Asthagandha were poured on the idol. The flowers too were showered on the Lord. Finally the garland was offered along with performing Mahamangalarti.

Taking into consideration the request of the people on three days of Mahamastakabhisheka (Thursday, Friday, Saturday),  people,  who missed the event, took part in large numbers in the celebration on Sunday. More devotees gathered as time progressed, as this celebration is a very rare event where devotees get a chance to offer Abhisheka in their life time.

The event would continue for few more Sundays, according to personnel from Mastakabhisheka office. Minister for Small Industries Shivananda Naika, Minister for Small Savings and Silk Ramachandra Gowda also took part in this Mahamastakabhisheka.

On this occasion, Dr D Veerendra Heggade was felicitated by Jain Association of Mandya.

The devotees appreciated and complimented the efficient management with which the event was organized.

Family members of Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade headed by Heggade himself overlooked the arrangement.
