December 14, 2007: St. Josephs Church Abu Dhabi kicked off the Christmas mood by organizing a fun filled event - Christmas Bazaar inside the church premises, on December 14th 2007 from 10.00 am onwards.    This event was held under the patronage of H.E Bishop Paul Hinder  and supported by  Rev. Fr. Savarimutthu the parish priest of St. Josephs Church, Rev. Fr. Antony Lopez, priests, nuns and the various parish communities  who worked hard and made this event a grand success.

Rev. Fr. Savarimutthu welcomed all those who had gathered to participate in this Christmas Bazaar, and thanked each and every person who had played a role in organizing this event.

The Christmas message was delivered by H.E Bishop Paul Hinder.   He told the entire gathering who had come in large numbers to witness this event, to spread the message of Love, Joy and Peace to all those around them during this  Christmas Season.  He then released balloons filled with Hydrogen in the air and declared the event open.

The special attraction was the arrival of Santa riding on a camel, who enhanced the festival mood and also the spirit of Christmas.   The event was compered by Mr. Jonathan Rego who was assisted by Peviz and Peter.  A lots of prizes were given away to participants at various games stalls, and mouth watering dishes were also available in various stalls organized by different community groups namely Filipino, Indian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan, African, and Arab, who joined hands together as one big family and entertained the crowd at different intervals.

This Christmas festival drew crowds not only from Abu Dhabi alone, but also from other parts of the UAE (Dubai and Northern Emirates).  The news had spread through word of mouth publicty,  far and wide and one could see an unanimous and magnanimous support from all the parishoners, including their friends, relatives and well wishers too.  People had real fun and thoroughly enjoyed the festive mood from morning till  night .   In the end there was a raffle draw conducted on the entry tickets  and prizes were given away to  lucky winners, the major prizes being gold, jewellery, air tickets and a bumper prize of a car.   Kudos to  all the Priest, Nuns, Organisers and parishioners of St. Josephs Church Abu Dhabi for hosting such a wonderful event, as the proceeds would go a long way in helping the poor and the needy..

Christmas festival organised at Abudhabi parish made it a funfilled day where the parishners met and enjoyed with oneanother. It generated the spirit of brotherhood of multicultured people from different parts of the world. Variety in the cuisine was an opportunity to all of us to taste different type of food around the world. Thanks to the church authorities, the various communities and all those who made this day a enjoyable one. May God bless the hard work and May He grant us the sprit throughout the coming years. Wish you all A JOYFUL CHRISTMAS AND A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.
