Mangalore May 12: Expressing concern over the risisng inflation and soaring food prices, BJP on Monday said UPA Government despite having the services of three renowned economists including the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh failed to check them.

The Congress was having three noted economists in Manmohan Singh, Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Monetk Singh Ahuluwalia, but it could not check inflation and price rise, BJP Natinal General Secretary H N Anantkumar charged at a party's election rally here.

The common man and farmers are today reeling under price rise and other socio-economic problems due to the policies of the Congress, he alleged while campaigning for his party for the second phase of assembly elections to be hled on May 16.

"Terrorism activities are going unimpeded in the country due to wrong and soft corner policies of the UPA government. College campuses are becoming recruiting centres for terrorists", he alleged.

Congress meted out step motherly treatment to Karnataka, he charged and questioned the contribution of leaders like Oscar Fernandes, Veerappa Moily and B Janardhana Poojary for the development of coastal region.

He later visited Kannagudde, Padil area where he campaifned for Yogish Bhat. They even toured in city buses to woo the voters.
