Kundapur: Young, popular Kannada playback singer Rajesh Krishnan got married to small screen actor Ramya Vasishta in Shri Mookambika temple in Kollur in the taluk on Monday, Nov 7.
Only a few family members and well-wishers were present on the occasion.
Rajesh Krishnan hails from the family of a musician of the calibre of G Ramanathan. He learnt music from his mother, Meera Krishnan who was his first Guru. He began his playback singing career under the baton of Hamsalekha about twenty years ago.
When he was 13, Rajesh represented St Joseph’s Indian High School at a Children’s’ Film Festival. At 17, he had the credit of being India’s youngest playback singer.
He has sung over 5,000 songs in Kannada, 500 in Telugu, over 250 plus in Tamil, Hindi and over a dozen other languages for devotional albums, theme albums and commercials in a career spanning over almost two decades.
Rajesh has acted in a few movies like Ori Nee Prema Bangaram Kaanu (Telugu), Santosha, GaalipaTa, Krishna and Holidayz. He has even dubbed for several Kannada films "Amrutadharee" and "Nuru Janmaku".
Some of his hits include "Hogabeda hudugi nanna biTTu" (Annavra Makkalu), "Sumsumne NagtaLe" (A), "Usire Usire" (Huccha), "Nuru Janmaku" (America America), "Kariya, I Love You" (Duniya), "Ondonde BacchiTTa Matu" (Inthi Ninna Preetiya), "Prema Chandrama" (Yajamana), "Onde Usirante" (Snehaloka), "Nagu Nagu" (Aramane), "Let's Dance Jote Jote" (Ee Bandhana) and "Madarangiyalli" (Milana).
Besides, Rajesh has also won the hearts of thousands of fans in the rural areas with his music shows.
Ramya Vasishta is TV serial actor and also a singer. The news of the marriage was not made public in advance.
