Kundapur: Popular singer Vasundhara Das has had a secret and quiet wedding with her long-time beau and partner in Arya music band, Robert Narain, in 'Namma Bhoomi' near Hattiangady in the taluk.
The marriage is said to have taken place a few days ago. Except a few close relatives, all others were kept in the dark about it. It is only after a few days that the news has come out.

'Namma Bhoomi' is the brainchild of Nandana Reddy of the CWC and a shelter for poor children and centre of harmony among all faiths.
A bright-eyed youngster, Vasundhara Das was born on August 18, 1977 in Bangalore. Her father Kishen Das is a CEO in an MNC and her mother Nirmala Das is a scientist with the Indian Institute of Science.
She has Bachelor degrees in Statistics and Maths from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. She began her Hindustani Classical Music lessons at the age of 6. She is a multilinguist who knows Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, English, Malayalam, and Spanish.
With an excellent voice, she wanted to pursue her career in singing. She released her first music album Meri Jaan, which was a super hit. She owns a musical band called Arya with Robert Narain, now her husband. Her band gave their first performance at the prestigious festival La Marde Musical in Spain in 2003. She has her music influences from Hindustani classical, Choral, Ghazal, English, Fusion, Rock and Funk, Spanish, and more.
Her first celluloid break came with Tamil film Mudhalvan under A RRahman. She made her acting debut in Tamil film 'Hey Raam'. Her role in the film catapulted her to the centre stage of cinema and also did the Hindi version. She entered Malayalam and Kannada film Industry through films Ravana Probhu and Lankesh Patrike.
Her noted films Citizen, Monsoon Wedding, Pathar, Eik Dastak, Film Star, etc. established her as a talented actress. She was given an opportunity to flex her vocals in English for British leading lady Rachel Shelley in the Hindi film Laagan. From the gleam in her eye as a teenager, to her film offers, she has come a long way.
