Mangalore: BJP district spokesperson K Monappa Bhandary, in a media release, has stated that the party unit is happy over the clean chit given to former minister and Suratkal MLA Krishna J Palemar in the case of porn-viewing in the assembly. Palemar had resigned after the episode created an uproar in the assembly and made headlines in national and international media.

Bhandary has said that although Palemar was not of part of any wrong-doing, false allegations were levelled against him. Now the house committee has held an investigation and submitted a report clearing Palemar of all the charges. He had also submitted his resignation immediately and announced that he was prepared to face any investigation. He had also expressed confidence over his coming out clean. Accordingly, Bhandary said, he has been cleared of the charges.
