Mangalore: A Tempo vehicle, suspected to be involved in cattle-trafficking, overturned at Kottara in the early hours of Saturday, April 7.

Twenty cattle, mostly calves, are said to have died in the mishap. Two occupants of the vehicle have been injured. They were reportedly being transported from Jokatte near Bajpe to the city's market.
On a tip-off about the cattle-trafficking, Bajrang Dal workers are said to have followed the vehicle. Apparently in an attempt to escape, the vehicle was speeding and met with the mishap.
The persons who were in the vehicle fled from the spot when mishap occurred. Bajrang Dal activists were also not seen on the spot after the mishap.
One person was stuck inside the vehicle. He was rescued by the Sri Rama Sene activists and taken to the government hospital. The mishap occurred at 5.45 am. A veterinary doctor had been called at 6 am but the doctor reached the spot only at 8 am, said Kumar Malemar, one of the SRS activists.
There were 32 cattle in the vehicle and 20 have died in the mishap. A case has been registered in Urva police station and investigation is in progress. | |

@Nicholas - Your response is very mature!! In your twiseted logic, I should return to india and 'take care of old cows', uh? Going by your own logic, you should also return to India and take on BD and RSS, right? What are you doing in Canada?
@ Vincent - Every single post reminds me of a sanskruta shloka - 'akaashat patitam tohyam yatha gachchati saagaram, sarva deva namaskaara keshavam prati gachchti'. No matter what the issue is, your posts always talk about RSS and me. Keep up the good work! smiles... |

Why have you ran to sooo far away country from your home town instead of taking care of these old cows & why cannot you tell your masters to give respect to human beings before worrying about cattles? What were these guys including you doing when people were transported worst than these cattles for ratha yatras, political speeches, etc.
Better follow before preaching. |

This is brutal, pathetic and unkind; these cows deserve better treatment, having said that there is fishy in this incident. An investigation without any bias should reveal who is behind this incident. Rats from peaceful establishment are capable to do such to create communal riots in Mangalore. Police forces should do fair and proper investigation, these animals pain shouldn’t be tolerated, culprits should be nabbed and proper punishment should be given.
If I remember correctly in 2006 there was communal riots in Mangalore ( Nagraj Shetty played a role of his master Narendra) then there was a story around that BD thugs were chasing a truck with cattle’s and during this chase a lady was injured and this ignited riots in Mangalore . When human rights activists investigated there was no FIR lodged in any police station in Mangalore and then it was found that this was a handy work of BD thugs. These rats from peaceful establishment wants to create some disturbances because elections in Karnataka are at the corner so they want to create some issues, remember RSS never came to public with any genuine reasons, Hindutva was only tool they have and will use it to maximum. Even, they were defeated but they will never learn the lessons.
Usually BD thugs pose with the cattle’s for publicity and now they ran away from the scene, so this can be staged by them.
Remember, this can be like Sindagi incident by the RSS.
It's quite sad to see how you lack any moral values and can't think beyond your religion and political party. Twenty cows in a tempo?- Roger Venoor Kamath
Do you think beyond religion and political party when it comes to atrocities by RSS and its cadres in India? What problem do you have to admit the atrocities by the RSS in Gujarat, Karnataka, Orissa and other parts of India? Those keep criticizing others should enforce moral values in them. |

@ Puttur Dinesh: Thanks for expressing genuine concerns.
@ Nicholas, David Crasta and Alfie: It's quite sad to see how you lack any moral values and can't think beyond your religion and political party. Twenty cows in a tempo? Seriously? Is this how they are taken to their final destination before getting slaughtered in some medieval way defined in 6th century texts? Clearly, your 'naalige chapala' and religious bigotry have failed you as human beings. |

This is cruel, inhuman, brutal and painful.
I strongly condemn this kind of trafficking
in the strongest words. All these traffickers must be penalized with death. No matter who they are. This is high time to bring Anti Cow slaughter Bill. |

Why cannot the police book a case against BD for driving at highspeed & killing of animals,Humans & endagering life of people who were using the road?
Who gave these guys the authority to check the authenticity of slaughtering cows,Inspecting permits etc?
Are the Mangalore police just payed to sleep in the police station? |

It is shocking news and inhuman crime by the animal traffickers.
The people who oppose cow slaughter not just SRS or BD. The majority of the Hindus consider Cow as sacred and have love and respect for the animal. These butchers are frequently provoking sentiments of the majority. Instead of blaming BD or SRS these people should learn to respect others faith and belief.

| Surprising that no one is talking about how 32 cattle can be stuffed in a small truck like this? Why there this necessity to carry so many animals in one truck? Greed? Who cares about them as far as we get out meat ? Every one is blaming BD only as if theirs was the only illegal activity. What about illegal trafficking of the animals , why no one is talking about them? Just like the BD even the traffickers fled the scene! Why they did not attend to the injured animals and their injured pals(humans)? they do not have any responsibility at all? Every one is jumping to blame BD ( even I do that) but the blame should be shared equally by the animal traffickers also. |

| Because of Bajrangdal, innocent cows lost their lives. What they have gained by chasing the vehicle??? First we have to chase Bajarangis and vanish them, then only peace will prevail in Mangalore. Bajarangis are the main cause for every problem. |

| Such cruel activity and brutality towards animals should be stopped. We should try to show respect towards religion by condemning such acts. |

| It is the mistake of the BD. They should not have taken law into their hands. They commit blunders and people suffer. BD and other extremist organizations are responsible for the evil. Let all Hindus join together and isolate these groups. This is the only solution. |

What is the purpose of the chase done by BD activists that they had to flee the site once the mishap took place?
Why they take-up the task themselves, is it because their level of moral is very high or they are paid for moral policing?
It’s quite evident that their moral level of these BD activists is actually below the basic responsibility level, if they were really moral policing in concern to the cattle’s which were illegally transported they would have stayed there and done the required moral activities for the cattle’s at least. Instead they fled and SRS activists have done the mortality part here, they took the person who was injured to hospital and arranged for the veterinary doctor for the cattle’s.
If they have got a tip on illegal cattle transport, then why take law in hand; why not forward the same to police, for instant any illegal or assumed wrong act why not forward the tip to the police. Are the BD activists underestimating the police?
It only seems like they are interested in destructive activities rather than their so called upholding of the principles, in this case I guess the purpose was only to catch hold of the people involved and trash them, which didn't materialize here, Seems like they are paid for the job, networking to trash, harass people.
Who gave them the right to chase without even confirming the authenticity? The government also does nothing about it; these BD activists are becoming goons in the shield of moral policing in Mangalore, still the purpose of the chase done by BD activists remains undisclosed.

| Holy Cow!!! That's one heckuva "Cow-Slaughter" project undertaken by the mighty SRS gang. Earlier these guys were behind gals heading to the pubs, and now they are behind cows heading to the slaughter house. I only wish these activists could have a real job and also mind their own business --and stay away from gals and "cows"!!! |

This is horrific
Would anyone eat meat if the animals are treated this way. I feel like the BD members have a valid point but they need to deal with this issue in a proper way. Along with the smugglers BD people are responsible for the death of these helpless cows.
I think BD should partner with PETA and resolve this issue. In any case this is horrific. |
