Dubai: Suratkal parishioners residing in the UAE celebrated the feast of Sacred Heart of Jesus in Dubai on Friday, June 15 with great devotion and enthusiasm.

This was yet another opportunity for the parishioners to unite as one family. The day started with all parishioners attending the mass in St Mary’s Church, Dubai and thereafter gathering in the Tantra Club of Karama Hotel for lunch, followed by entertainment.
 
Valerian D'Almeida and Roydon Roche compered the event , which began with a prayer by Clara Pinto. Wilson Crasta, Lancy D'Souza and Sarita Pinto.

 
Emirates Suratkal Parishioners' Association (ESPA) president Sunil Pinto welcomed the gathering. Gilbert D’Souza released the annual newsletter and William Sequeira released the bylaws. Ashok D’Souza introduced the new members.
 
Chilly Willy chairman and managing director Sateesha Ganiga was the chief guest and he was felicitated by ESPA committee for his generous contributions to the organization's events during the last two years.
 
All committee members were honoured with a memento for their contribution to ESPA during the last two years. Diana Leena Pinto and Avil Pinto were also honoured with a memento for their contribution to ESPA.
 
Godfrey Misquith conducted the election and the following members were elected office-bearers of ESPA for the period 2012 to 2014.

A number of short games were conducted by Valerian Dalmeida. Olan Pinto on keyboard and Rian Pinto on violin enthralled the audience with their music.

Wilson Crasta, Calvina Pinto, Clara Pinto and Lancy D’Souza entertained the audience with their singing. Calvina, Joshua, Nahshon, Fiona, Seema, Inish, Jerusha and Tanisha entertained the audience with their dances and Deepak, Wilson Serrao, Sunil Pinto, Clara Pinto and Roydon with their skits.

Members also voiced their opinions towards the betterment of the association and also to bring in more members to ESPA. The programme ended with a baila dance session and with a vote of thanks from Roydon Roche.
