Mangalore: Abdul Jabbar Kattapuni, hailing from Addoor near Polali here and working in Saudi Arabia for 17 years, was knocked down by a speeding car in Dammam while walking towards a mosque after work in April 2012 night and critically injured.

He was admitted to Al Manah hospital in Dammam and later for advanced treatment to Damam Central hospital. He finally succumbed to the injuries there on June 15.

Employed with Hayat Restaurant for many years, he was popular with NRIs from DK as well as Karnataka. He is survived by wife, two sons and a daughter.
