Mangalore : A tanker carrying highly inflammable spirit from Maharastra to Trichur, Kerala skidded and rolled into a ravine here on July 12 at Adam Kudru, near Thokkotu .
The tanker which was carrying 20,000 liters of highly inflammable spirit from Aurangabad was on its way to Trichur. The driver who lost control at the wheel resulted in the vehicle to swerve off the road, hit a electric pole and rolled down into a gorge.




The driver of the tanker, Vijayan from Aurangabad, who was injured, has been admitted to a hospital in the City. The officers from Excise Department and fire service reached the spot for further formalities.
Speaking to mangalorean.com Excise inspector Keshav said that the tanker was plying from Aurangabad, Maharastra to Trichur, Kerela with 20,000 liters of highly inflammable spirit. When the driver lost his control, the tanker hit a electric poll and rolled over near Adam Kudru, Thokkottu. He said the spirit was flowing out from the tanker due to damage to the cap of the tank. A case has been registered in Ullal Police station. |
