Kinnigoli: A lone bison (Indian bison or gaur - Bos gaurus) is said to have strayed close to agricultural areas in Sorkalaguttu and Kurbilguttu in Aikala village near here during the past few days.

Many acres of agricultural yield has perished as a result of its majestic march. Its movements are restricted to early hours of the morning like between 2 am and early dawn. Fields with sown paddy and transplanted saplings have suffered losses, said growers like Ramanna Shetty, Harish Shetty and Doddanna Shetty.

After they complained to the forest department, officials Yogeshwar, Shankar and Sheshappa paid a visit to the affected spots. They gave an assurance that the bison would be captured and shifted to another location away from the human presence.
