Mangalore: Police Warnings To Locals On Staging Social Parties

Mangalore: If the ' Moral Police' were earlier controlling or warning or disturbing a social event, guess now its the turn of the 'Real Police' who are taking that initiative in telling organizers of a social event, what to do, and what not to do ? Seems like Mangalorean Party-mongers will be having police as their " Baby-Sitters"!. Seems like next time you have a bash at a resort or a private spot involving a group of 25 people, you will be guardian watched by a dozen cops outside the party venue! Seems like next time at a party while you are sipping on your favorite beer, there will be thirsty cop outside starring at you, hoping that you'll offer him 'one' too! According to sources, some police departments are clamping down on parties in Mangalore to prevent recurrence of the recent attack on a birthday party at ' Home Stay' .
It is learned that, a circular has been issued by Panambur Police Station to three entities a few days after the Morning Mist Home Stay attack incident, suggesting caution. The police circular issued to a company looking after the Panambur beach states: "This is to inform you that you should take steps to see that no illegal rave parties and weekend parties are held at Panambur beach in the Panambur Station limits. Also, while organizing any other programmes, you should take prior permission from the departments concerned and also inform the police in advance. You will be held responsible for any untoward incidents that occur due to non-compliance. Also you have to keep a watch on the boys and girls and also tourists who visit the beach and inform us in case of any kind of trouble.''
Also, another circular issued to an entity in that area having a guest house asks it not to allow any parties or in case a party is being held, police has to be informed. But it is learnt that Police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, has denied that any such circular was sent. So we will have to wait and see, to believe if the police new caution laws are true or false. Until then hang on to your party moods or unleash them only in the privacy of your own homes.

Good Initiation by City Police...
All places which the owner intend to give on rent for day out or for day and night party and other purposes including the service apartments should register themself with the authority and should issue proper receipts for the person hiring the premises. This will to a large extent help to control such activities and will render those bunch of maniacs jobless only.
Protests and legal actions all come after such incidents happen... what is the use. |

In democracey there is no hard core rules to stop parties.
Look at other developing countries or developed countries and learn something from them......... be social in good sense.
What Shanker bhatt expressed his views are absloutely correct.
All dirty tricks and nonsense done for BJP and done by criminal gangs. BJP must stop such dirty play in DK. Else BJP will never come again in Karnataka.
Today, USA made a historic day by landing "CURIOSITY" rover on MARS land and Govt in karnatka fights for chairs and watches dirty- pictures in assembly. Shame on them.
Learn from others to be good and wake up from the sleep.

Just because one fanatic gunman killed 7 people in Sikh Temple , whether US government is going to ban congregations ?
Our police system is corrupt and ineffective, so we have put up with all these ridiculous rules .
It should be remembered that india is the only democratic country to ban tint glass in vehicles just to control crime and terrorism . What about bike riders with helmets ? Are they going to ban helmets and Burkha soon ? whats preventive measures they have taken to control crime in railways ?

The police is showing its disregard to the constitution of India. As per our contitution we have the right to talk, laugh, drink, celebrate or dance. Why are the police helping these uneducated goondas in Talibanizing Mangalore. This is ridiculous!!

Are we back to PERMIT RAJ [allowing police / excise dept, to collect "hafta" to issue PARTY PERMIT] under the most corrupt & unethical, porn-watching Cabinet of Karnataka Bhrasta Janara Party [BJP]?

Or shall we assume that Rave Party when conducted by shameless Saffron party as LEGAL [like held in Malpe, under the approval of this Sangha parivaara, hope the parivaris & HJV goons were not sleeping for those 2-3 days when BJP Govt conducted the Rave aprty in Malpe]

| How ridiculous can our Police get? In other words are they endorsing the ideology of these extremist hooligans who have taken our freedom as Mangaloreans for ransom. Parties and social gatherings be it with or without alcohol is needed for a healthy social existence. We should not let our freedom to be curtailed as long as we abide by the Indian constitution. |

Everything is possible in Mangalore.
First of all, there is tremendous ignorance on laws by policemen. They are doing this for their own safety bypassing top orders.
They do not understand that it is impossible to curb parties. Human beings itself by nature are social animals. For the cops amusement means 'Gadang'. Anything beyond that is seen as high class 'Rave party'
When they sense that certain organisations may create trouble on any event, they actually go begging to the organisers to cancel the event out of fear than to give protection.

| I think we should appreciate it as it gives protection to everyone in the party. More over it stress that no illegal weekend parties!! I dont think they are asking us to stop drininking at home but of similar case which had happened in the past. Lets learn to respect the police and dont think poor guy inside the uniform may look for the expensive beer!! Its sad to think and do understand these people are paid pea nuts to protect u and me. |
