“Some one is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.”--Lourdes School
Mangalore: There were trees on our planet much before the animals and human beings appeared. Everyone knows that trees give us oxygen to breathe, yet we human beings are thoughtless on cutting down trees. To save our planet from disaster, Vanamohotsava is celebrated throughout the country.
In connection with the project 'Green Planet’, Lourdes Central School ( LCS ) has organised flower arrangements colouring and drawing competition for the Kindergarten children. The importance of trees were made known to them, through songs, skills and charts.
The grand finale of ‘Green planet’ was celebrated on August 1, 2012 in LCS Auditorium. Rev Dr Victor Machado Manager LCS presided over it. Children of KG1 and KG2 took active part in it and sang various songs with action, to depict “Green planet”. Children of KG2 performed a skit on saving our environment.
