Bangalore: A sad incident of a young man's death in a road mishap followed by his father's collapse has been reported from the Victoria hospital in New Taragupet here on Sunday.

Dharani (21), son of Manje Gowda hailing from Channarayapatna of Hassan district, worked as an autorickshaw driver. He was hit by a private bus while crossing the road near the Majestic bus stand here on Saturday night.

Severely injured, he had been admitted to Victoria hospital. But he succumbed to the injuries in the early hours of Sunday morning. Manje Gowda had been informed of the mishap, but he came to know of the death only after reaching the hospital.

On hearing the news, he immediately collapsed because of a heart attack. In spite of immediate hospital attention, he died soon after.
