Kundapur:  A woman delivered a baby girl while she was on her way to the hospital for delivery at Maravante here on September 13.

Kanchana, a pregnant woman was on her way to the hospital along with her father Ramayya Shetty in a Omni car on September 13.  During their journey towards the hospital, Kanchana felt some severe labor pains. Noticing his daughter's condition Ramayya called the Arogya Kavacha for assistance, but the ambulance of Kirimanjeshwar center which was near to Maravante was attending another patient, so they arranged to send the Aloor Centre Vehicle.

Before the ambulance could reach the spot, the locals gathered and assisted Kanchana in safely delivering her baby. As soon as the news spread the primary health centre officer Dr Girish Gowda along with ANM Deepa reached Maravante and completed the procedures of the delivery.

Kanchana along with the new born baby are safe and in good health. The Arogya Kavacha who reached the spot shifted the new born baby and the mother to Kundapur hospital.
