NHL, NBA games postponed as blizzard hits US east coast

Washington, Jan 24 (IANS) Several National Hockey League (NHL) and National Basketball Association (NBA) games were postponed due to a major snowstorm that hit the United States east coast.

Philadelphia Flyers game with the New York Islanders on Saturday was called off because of the heavy snow and high winds, reports Xinhua.

The game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals in Washington on Saturday afternoon was also postponed.

On Friday, the NBA postponed Utah’s scheduled game at Washington and Boston’s scheduled game at Philadelphia.
