Nigerian Student held for Illegal Stay in City

Manipal: The Manipal police arrested a Nigerian Student for staying illegally beyond the period of Validity of his Visa on July 19.

The arrested has been identified as Augustine Junior Unadike, a student of Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Science Manipal.

According to the police, Augustine came to India through Mumbai Airport on 24 August 2011 for studying Pharmaceutical Science in Manipal. Augustine’s visa expired on 22 October 2015.

As per the instructions by Annamalai SP Udupi to the Manipal Police, Augustine was arrested and produced before the court. The court sent him to Judicial custody.

Under the direction of SP Annamalai, District Special branch CPI K K Ramakrishna, Ramadas Shetty ASI, Amarkumar, S V Girish CPI Manipal, and others took part in the operation.
