Manipal: Registered under the Societies Act, Nirmithi Kendra is committed to self-regulation, proactive disclosure and better accountability, said Dr. R Vishal, Deputy Commissioner. He was addressing a press meet at his office at Rajathadri, Manipal here on May 18.

Job charts have been initiated for construction work, paperless office, RTI compliance, third party evaluation and many other procedures are followed to ensure transparency. Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, NMAM Institute of Technology, PA Engineering College, SMVITM Bantakal will conduct third party inspection.
Nirmithi Kendra, Udupi is the first centre in Karnataka to get a tax exemption. The profits have risen to rupees 1.5 crores. As part of the social responsibility, the centre has built a building in Upoor for mentally challenged (male) adults costing 10 lakhs. A DDRC centre will be established in Red Cross Society, Udupi.

Cost effective buildings are constructed by Nirmithi Kendra without compromising quality. The 75-100% advance payment principle is being effectively followed. Approvals for the works are being maintained on records. Payments are being made through cheques and in the coming days, RTGS procedure will be effectively followed.  Other works implemented by Nirmithi Kendra are construction of concrete roads, improvement of garden and lake development. Solar lights have been installed in villages under the Naxal package.
A two day administrative programme was organized with industrial experts on construction, he added.
