Odisha celebrates Republic Day

Bhubaneswar, Jan 26 (IANS) The 67th Republic Day was celebrated in Odisha on Tuesday, with Governor S.C. Jamir hoisting the Tricolour and taking salute at a parade here.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik hoisted the national flag at the Barabati stadium in Cuttack.

In his speech, Patnaik described Odisha as a model state in the field of social security.

People across the state celebrated the day. In tribal areas, Maoist calls to boycott the official celebrations failed to evoke any response.
