Official Eid Holiday on Jul 7 – For Schools on Jul 6

Bengaluru: The state government had earlier declared Jul 6 as a holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr. However, owing to disparity in sighting the moon in different places, the official holiday will be on July 7.

The change has been made at the request of the central moon committee.

While schools and colleges will be closed on July 6, all government offices will remain open on the day but closed on July 7.

As Eid is being celebrated in DK district on July 6, Muslim staff have been allowed a discretionary holiday, DC A B Ibrahim has said.
