Oman: Bunts Community in Muscat Holds Condolence meet for Kayyara Kinhanna Rai and Master Vittal

Oman: Bunts residing in Muscat held a condolence meet for the poet and freedom fighter late Kayyara Kinhanna Rai and Natya guru Master Vittal shetty at Al Bahja Hall, Jungle Theme Restaurant Al Qurum on 14 August .

Oman Bunts patrons and Bunts Oman 2015 organizing committee office bearers inaugurated the meet by lighting the lamp.

Shanker Shetty Kalladi led the condolence meet and spoke about Nadoja Dr Kayyara Kinhanna Rai’s life and achievements and requested all the pro-kannada organisations to make the legend’s dream of adding Kasargod into Karnataka by reviewing the Mahajan report.

Sashidhar Shetty Mallar offered his condolences to Master Vittal Shetty and spoke about his achievements and contributions to the society. Teaching and training hundreds of students in Bharatanatyam tirelessly for about 75 years, he had also introduced the Indian classical art abroad. Disciple of dance guru Rajan Aiyar he was the guru of several dance gurus and Kannada cine star Kalpana. Among the awards won by him are the Rajyotsava Award, Shantala Dance Award. Kalashree Award from the Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy and several titles from the dancing fraternity.
